I've tried a few different brands of screen protectors but not the Martin Fields. I have been totally satisfied with Power Support Crystal and find no need to try anything else. I find the crystal easy to apply, feels good, has no effect on the clarity of the screen and it really lasts a long time. I had one on my 3GS phone or 2 1/2 years and the protector itself still looked great when I passed it on. Personally I would rather pay the extra money, put it on once and be done with it. And I actually feel that with the crystal it actually reduces fingerprinting a bit. Not as good as the anti glare but I don't like the anti glare's reduction in clarity of the screen.

Power Support all the way for me! In the past I have never put protection on the back and usually just purchase the two front piece crystal set. But as it was out of stock this week, I ordered the 3 piece set with the back as well. I figured since I had it I would put the back on and I really like it. I actually contemplated going without case protection.

Hi,

I've been lurking for a bit here recently, my first post.

@10-Dee-Q

Does the Martin Fields protector cover the whole screen? looking on their website it almost looks like it only covers just the bare minimal leaving some of the Home button area uncovered.

Also, on the back cover, I've read it covers up the flash too, does that cause a serious side effect to taking photo's?

Can you clarify that please?

Thanks

sorry for the late reply

yes it does cover the whole area on the front screen
more than any other brand intact cause martin fields also cover the front facing camera

as for the back, yes , they do cover the flash light too
but i haven't seen any changes in the picture that i took.

----------

yes after trying so many screen protector
my nomination or recommendation for the best screen protector for iPhone 4 is gonna be

-Power Support AFP crystal clear for the front
(because this is the Clearest of them all and the cut out is perfect, and also this one is quite scratch resistant.

-Martin Fields Screen Protector for the back
(because they cover the flashlight too, and for those who need serious protections, they do infact give you a tiny circular protector to stick to your camera as well!.)

i will never recommend the SGP screen protector except for those Ultra Fine anti finger print ones.
the other variant is not as good imho.

Power Support.

They get compared to SGP, but the difference is quite dramatic. While SGP films go on well, their crystal films tend to peel from the edges and their anti-glare films distort the screen too much.

They are expensive and there isn't much in the box in terms of extras (SGP give films, squeegees and lens cleaner), but once they are on, they really last.

I've experimented with these films A LOT in the past few years, with my iPad, iPad 2 and all of my iPhones.

well, im quite anal on this screen protector thing, cause i realy want it to be perfect. and i don't like those matte ones cause it still shows fingerprint and dirts and it make my iphone screen look like a CRT monitor, so grainy. so far i've tried theese and here's my thought:

-SGP ultra crystal - cuttings is perfect, but the screen protector it self is not so crystal clear, you can see some "grain" on them , i suspect is their glue that make it look like that. another thing is that their glue is not so good cause it always lifting up in the corner. i give them score of 6/10

-SGP Oleophobic - very good in the first week also, cutting is perfect, but it loses its oleophobic after a bout a week, and then it become the same as the ultra crystal, but this one is more prone to scratches. score 6.5/10

-SGP ultra fine - this is matte type and i don't like it at all score 4/10 for their perfect cutting.

-Power Support AFP Crystal - perfect cut, very crystal clear, mind you but i buy the japanese version which clearly write "AFP" anti fnger print on the packaaging but it still does shows finger print like any other crystal screen protector out there. but this is the best in teerms of crystal quality. it's sooo damn clearr. and its easier to apply than SGP one, cause SGP one are using sometipe of glue that shows some specks or blemishes if you don't put them perfectly. score 9/10

-Martin Fields - the best cuts out there, excellent claritttty, but it does shows a little bit of the rainbow effect. their protector is the thickest of them all, so it may cause problems with some case. but it does "protect" the screen more because of that. score 9/10

now im using martin fields for my back cover and power support for my front screen, great combo i must say.

I have been a fan of SGP Ultra crystal. While I agree that the cut out fits perfectly. I would argue about the "Grain" and the glue. I have used them on 4 out of 5 of my iPhone 4's on our plan and all are crystal clear and do not exhibit a "Grain".

Now that being said, I did get a set that that had the glue/adhesive issue a few months back when I had my phone exchanged at Apple. I notified SGP about the flaw and they sent me another set as a replacement.

Since then, they have been great!

Screen shields are available for different needs. My wife for instance, uses the SGP Ultra Optics on her iPhone 4S because she wants something that will prevent smudges from her hands and makeup. I like the ultra crystal for protection without feeling like you have a screen shield on!
