I never eat fast food at home. Before September last time I'd eaten a McDonalds was St Patrick's day and after 2 bites I decided I wasn't drunk enough. Would always rather go to a sandwich place or buy soup or just nip into a supermarket and throw something together.

Here sandwich places don't really seem to exist, neither does anything short of a 10 euro sit down meal at lunch. I have serious love for McDonalds here. It's a lot better than at home and it's cheap which food here really isn't. And it's open every day until midnight, this is a serious plus in Austria. SERIOUS.

There's a KFC next door if I ever get bored and need to change it up.

Can we please pull Arby's off the list.

+1 I was at the counter and the women taking care of the drive through dropped a sandwich on the floor:eek:, picked it up put it in the bag and handed it out the window. Never been back.

Arbys is so expensive too. I hate it. Everything is over priced. The one down the street from me closed down because no one went there anymore. Its a dying franchise (at least I hope).

I grew up around In and Out and I have to say that decades after having been around those burgers, they're not super spectacular. They're good but they're thin and, in my opinion, better than most because they are fresh. I'd choose them over BK, Mc Donalds, Wendy's etc any day. Sonic wasn't really an option where I came from but once I finally had it I was also in the "meh" mode. I don't miss In and Out but I certainly do eat it at least once when I get back to CA. Animal Fries FTW. :D

I don't eat much fast food but since Pei Wei is the "fast food" of PF Chang's, I'd say that is one of my favorites.

Seems the people working at Arby's aren't the brightest crayons in the box. I went there once, handed the cashier a 20 dollar bill, and she asked "A twenty?" I've been a cashier before and I know sometimes I will mumble bill amounts to myself while thinking in my head and adding everything up to punch it into the register, but she actually asked, and didn't do anything until I said "Yes, a twenty." I really wondered what would've happened if I said "No, a hundred."

Luckily in St. Louis we have a chain called Lion's Choice which has roast beef sandwiches which far exceed anything you can get at Arbys.

On the rare occasion that I want a "burger", I go to Burger King for the BK Veggie. I wish more fast-food places would get veggie burger options.

For cheap Mexican, it's Taco Bueno for me. I can't stand Taco Bell anymore. I am intrigued by this Del Taco that's been mentioned, but I'm too far east, it seems. I'd love to see a national chain open up that had real taquería-style tacos.

I like Chinese takeout better than these though, and there are plenty of cheap Chinese places here.

Everything else I like is a little too expensive to be considered "fast". I've learned to make some of this myself at home, too. I'm not intimidated by Asian grocery stores, so that helps.

Some time ago, there was a Kolache Factory here in Louisville, and I'd go there about every other Saturday and fill a box. Those things are addictive. Unfortunately, it closed in less than a year due to poor location selection.

All fast food places have crap food that's unhealthy and had for you.

Slight generalisation there.....

Erm, in the UK we're not particularly well served for good burgers - the only choices in most high streets outside London are McDonalds and Burger King, which is a pity because a good burger is a wonderful thing (and of course you have a huge choice in the US, I'm jealous:D)

Generally, Nandos is my favourite at the moment.

Culvers. Period. I actually can't really eat any other fast food burgers since I first tried the butterburger with cheese. 1/4 pound 100% Angus beef, made when you order... bun swiped with butter and grilled... yummy wisconsin cheese... thick sliced pickles and onions, fabulous crinkle fries... not to mention the cheese curds have several different kinds of cheese rather than just cheddar...

If I'm not in the mood for a burger, then it's Taco Bell for the grilled steak taco.

McDonald's for ice cream only, maybe fries.

Oh, Culvers. You have great taste. When I visit relatives in Wisconsin, a trip to Culvers is always on the list, as is grabbing a big bag of curds, and one for the road. :D

Oh, and about Arby's:

+1 I was at the counter and the women taking care of the drive through dropped a sandwich on the floor:eek:, picked it up put it in the bag and handed it out the window. Never been back.

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little.

I agree that Arby's is rather expensive if you don't use coupons. I think Arby's got the hint, too-- they're heavily promoting some $5.01 value deal now.

Culver's is not too shabby. My sister-in-law's family go quite often.

Del taco is pretty good. i used to go there pretty often when I lived in tempe, AZ. Kinda of a cross between Mcdonalds and Taco Bell. Sounds odd, but theyre good

Panera Bread. I love their Asian Sesame Chicken Salad.

Panera is expensive. I ate there the other day and spent 10 bucks on a sandwich and soda. Seems pricey to me and it wasn't that great.

Panera used to be a small chain of stores called St. Louis Bread Company, I think they went downhill a bit when they expanded outside of STL and became a big chain.

McDowell's and Chokey Chicken are my favorites.

Chokey Chicken? That's a real restaurant? I thought it was just a ficticious restaurant from Rocko's Modern Life.

Kudos to anyone who can open a restaurant called Chokey Chicken and get away with it without people protesting the name :D

In-N-Out's always gonna be #1 on my list. Making everything fresh and natural is the way to go. When I go back east though, I still have to try Culver's and White Castle. I've seen lots of billboards for Culver's and going there is definitely on my to-do list.

As for at home, my list goes something like:
- In-N-Out
- Wendy's
- Carl's Jr.
- Burger King
- Jack In The Box

Fat Mo's drive thru in Nasville, TN. LINK

A half pound Fat Mo combo with spicy fries and a fresh made cherry vanilla milk shake is to die for. Sadly, living in Dallas, I only get to go there when visiting the family a couple of times a year.
