This sort of security breach should be reported. Apparently the best place to report it is here: http://www.ncfta.net/report-cyber-crime.aspx

Good luck on the reporting. It is the opinion of many that the US AG older is the most corrupt AG the US has ever had. i.e. read- dropped all charges against AIG when there was irrefutable evidence of fraud which destroyed the economy worldwide, Op fast & furious for illegally running US guns to Mexico with no oversight, and will not release all documents proving he knew about it etc..

Illegal for Feds to spy?? they have been doing it under the flag of the NDDA violating our rights along with Homeland Security, NSA, TSA, Fema and all the szars of overreaching government for a while now. Rights? you all think you have rights? LOL

There was an admittance by a major news agency that now all news reprts have to be cleared by the white house first where they *edit* according to what the government feels is appropriate... so no, I doubt it will make front page news.

ps. at least not the main stream media..(mind control media)

This story has been out a whole day and no one has spun it into an election season "issue"

I'm proud of you guys.

Every UDID in the list is from an individual that utilized Obama-care instead of having private medical insurance.

Another reason Obama-care should be revoked.

So…. if the UDIDs aren't from the FBI computer, where are they from?

Maybe, the server collecting the UDID and other info of an iOS app that provides services that require that type of data?

I think compromising that type of server is more likely than compromising the FBI. But, maybe not?

So…. if the UDIDs aren't from the FBI computer, where are they from?

Publish free app, get a few thousand UDIDs, pad it out with a few thousand fake ones to make a more dramatic number, publish to the internet and blame whichever organisation you want.

Not saying that what happened, but a little scepticism of both sides is warranted.

Obamacare is only the start, Ive read just recently some schools are trying to force students now to be implanted with the RFID chip, there is a court battle going on. Obamacare will mandate RFID chip implants to all. By 2015 the government (doesnt matter right or left) will mandate all citizens to rfid implant. People will be scanned wherever they go with all info available to big brother. Pleople who opt out will not have access to health, banks, gov buildings, airplanes etc..

Sweet!

Does the RFID chip have bluetooth functionality so that it can wirelessly sync with my iPhone for hands free operation while driving?

Won't be able to buy or sell...

not even food or goods no. With the drone program already started all over the US, by 2015 15,000 drones will have a lock on everyone over US skies. There is also a hacker drone now in the market for government forces. Apparently this drone just released has over 4,500,000 language/password hacking capability to hack into any wifi or network as it flies overhead.

Sounds like a well orchestrated "panic mode" scenario. But, who's really behind it? I'm sure there is nothing to worry about.

*logs into iTunes, changes password, logs out, breathes sigh of relief*

If the data is--as has been suggested--simply the kind of data that many an app developer would likely have as part of some push-based services, then I am forced to consider the possibility that the hackers broke into a laptop that’s much less exciting than they thought (or said) it was.

Can you provide some clarification on what this means?

It contains a dictionary file with 4,500,000 passwords? That's not nearly enough to break into every wireless network.

It contains a complete password dictionary file for 4.5 million languages? Really, that's a lot of languages.

words in many languages... Thats what I recall the article mentioned, it was about a week ago, im sure you can goggle it.

In a statement issued in the past hour:
The statement is not a blanket denial that the information did not come from the FBI, but instead says there "is no evidence" that a laptop was compromised or that the FBI sought or obtained the UDIDs.

It sure sounds like a blanket denial to me: they specifically said they were not seeking UDIDs and not only that but that they didn't obtain them through some other means (such as maybe on found on a hacker's computer?). It sounds like they covered a lot of bases with that statement.

Ok, but still not nearly large enough to break into every wifi network. Not even remotely close to large enough.

According to many reports, the gov. agencies have set up a huge database to contain every single bit of information of any and all citizens in the US.

Perhaps not. Won't take long though..

Then I thought, why didn't the hackers simply post the entire list unencrypted if it's that easy to crack? Instead, you download the encrypted file, and then they lead you to go and download/install some open-source software for decrypting it. I don't have time right now it research further and I don't know enough about which open-source software is safe/legit. Seemed kinda suspicious to me. I don't know if this open-source software they want you to use isn't the real danger in disguise or not. Just saying. My personal motto on things like this: If I am not well-informed about something, I err on suspicion until I am.
openssl software to decrypt comes with Macs (and Linux) by default, so you don't have to download anything to see if your UDID is among the one million released numbers. Windows may require software, but I am not sure.

If the data is really from NCFTA, they could be telling the truth, as NCFTA is not really part of FBI without being all that forthcoming about what really took place.

Perhaps not. Won't take long though..

Given the limited rate of attempted logins by the drone and the sheer number of possible password combinations, I doubt any one will be able to make a drone that can hack every wifi network.

I think your tin-foil hat is too tight.

do the research then come back with facts of your own.

Thank you, no. I learned long ago that it is impossible to have reasoned debate with anyone at your level of conspiracy theory paranoia.

Impressive how you made the leap from two guys demoing a concept at a Black Hat conference to the US Govt. deploying 15,000 of them to "lock on everyone" (your words).

Must be a scary place in your mind. :)
