Sprint paid for that spectrum and therefore they have the privilege to use it. Because they paid for it, it was an asset of the company and contributed to its value. Also, that spectrum is used to support 12% of the country's cellular service and you just think the government should pluck it away, after it was paid for?

First of all, Sprint licensed it not TMobile-Sprint. Secondly, they don’t own it, they simply have exclusive rights to use it.

The American people own it. It’s not Sprints asset to pass on when they die.

This goes to show how large AT&T and Verizon are compared to T-Mobile. Even with this merger, the New T-Mobile would be 3rd in size, albeit better able to compete.

This is great for the 5G market and US consumers. Sprint was close to failing and all their spectrum would have been gobbled up by the Big Two at auction.

T-Mobile’s coverage will get better (it’s already pretty good) and their LTE speeds will increase with the additional spectrum (and as customers start to move to 5G, increasing LTE speeds, theoretically).

Come again?? Telecom lobbyists own congress 😂

I am pretty sure Sprint and Verison only use CDMA for non-LTE (and lower) networking. (I know that's the case for Verizon.)

As a T-Mobile customer, what I really want is more LTE coverage (assuming Sprint can at least help there.) The sooner Sprint's LTE towers work with my T-Mobile sim card, the better, as far as I am concerned.
Actually, if this merger can also increase my download rates in places where I already have coverage (or turn 2 bars into 3) that would help too.

That's what was reported 8 months ago. I wouldn't be surprised to learn more has been spent since then.

Let us stipulate that it was now over three times that, an even $600,000. Let’s say that the hotel cleared 10% or about $60,000. If that was a bribe on a billion dollar, the people taking the bribe sold themselves short.

My question to you is is this okay?

In all honesty, it does not bother me at all.

Are you comfortable with any amount of money being spent by corporations at Trump properties when they have something specific to gain from curried favor from the President of the United States?

Yup, but to be clear, the FCC is an independent agency. Commissioners can only be replaced for cause, so it does not much matter what President Trump wants. I am much more concerned by having a government and president with so much power that people need to constantly worry about how to curry favor in their rent seeking actions.

Should this be expected and accepted as normal behavior during this and all future administrations? And if you say yes, what should the limits be to where you say enough is enough?

I would have a problem with this if they were paying 10 times market rates for rooms. However, I am curious if you expressed the same outrage over the millions of dollars in contributions to the Clinton Foundation while Secretary Clinton was in office? What about paying former presidents, members of congress, and cabinet officers of both parties , exorbitant rates for speeches immediately after they get out of office?

As long as the government has as much control over our lives, people will find a way to influence it.

Yes, donating to the Clinton Foundation while Hillary was Secretary of State was wrong and I'm not okay with any of it. The bipartisan corruption of American politics is a problem that should bother everyone.

Hopefully it's not just one company running what is essentially two entirely separate networks.

Im originally from Ireland. When 3 bought O2 YEARS ago, they kept the networks separate until relatively recently.

Pretty sure the merger went down like 8+ years ago, and we're talking a FRACTION of the land area involved vs the whole US.

I wouldn't get your hopes up, this is bound to be an epic $h¡tshow.

I plan to buy my next iPhone unlocked, in case my service with T-Mobile changes and then I would be able to use my iPhone on Verizon’s network. The only thing I can do at this point is wait and see what T-Mobile do and how the service turns out.
