The solution is that the low bandwidth user buys a low bandwidth plan?
(Or, even better, a nationwide ban on gaming and YouTube - hey, a man can dream)
We are doomed, people will die, and yet another crisis is fabricated by the Left because government ineptness can't pick winners and losers, who no longer have to grovel at the fleet of a nameless bureaucrat. Sorry, but I'll put my trust in innovative entrepreneurs over government regulation anyway.

Not quite. Trump is a smart guy, I have my doubts that any opponent who calls the guy a dictator is equally smart.
And when those innovative entrepreneurs can’t get their product to market because the unaccountable, unelected corporate regulators decide to prevent it to avoid competition then what will you do?
That's a lame cop out. Try to justify the constant over the top prediction of doom at every decision over the past year by the Left.

For most of human history almost all of the world’s population has lived under monarchies and dictatorship. There are many people that would like to go back to that so we constantly have to be on the lookout for threats to our freedom like this.

And you want the govenment ot dictate internet here, pick winners and losers, let a few large corporations dominate bandwidth because they grease the skids of politicians, and perhaps even limit content.
Give it a couple months, and you’ll start to see. Before these rules were put in Comcast was throttling Netflix until they paid up. No start up could afford that.
Because the Right never predicts doom...there's never any fear-mongering about Muslims and illegals and what will happen with stricter gun control... 
If we could rid ourselves of the monopolies we would have no need for net neutrality, it would be built into the system.

"immigration - people will die" is a particularly interesting one, since there are several non-trivial ways that can cause death, which go from sending people back into hellholes (yes, even worse than America) to breaking families apart, and particularly separating elderly or non-self-sufficient members from caregivers and providers.

New reports of his administrations activities certainly do point at him being rather dictatorial. Going after people in the government for not being onboard. Censoring language in government reports and documents to suit his agenda. Certainly doesn't sound like freedom.

2. For that matter, there are several other hundred countries with their respective governments where the internet is more or less "restricted" depending on country. By whom? Oh, right: government. So you see that each government has its policy (OH OH DUH YOU DON'T SAY)

Exactly! The left is spouting all this "Trump is the worst President ever" BS (and maybe he is), but Hilary would have been equally as bad. Instead of Net Neutrality being rolled back, she would have rolled back national security. Come 2018, we would have been f*cked regardless of which of the two party candidates was elected.
***Disclaimer: I whole-heartedly supported Net Neutrality. I don't think this is a left or right issues. It's a consumers vs corporations issue. Trump and the FCC didn't listen to over 80% of Americans, and the corporations won.***

How can you say that a start up can’t get venture capital funding unless it is granted below cost access to bandwidth?
Charging different amounts based on what it being transmitted is not below cost access, it is giving everyone a level playing field.

No it isn’t. Netflix and YouTube suck up far more bandwidth than other users. The answer is more supply, not bogging down what we have now.
Apple for example, is piling up services that require bandwidth. It doesn’t work in airports or on college campus where everyone is streaming useless data. It’s getting worse and worse. I’d like to see content sellers start massive funding for infrastructure before it comes to a grinding halt.
CNN wen't from being near center to going far left after the election. I can't watch that or Fox anymore. We seriously need an unbiased news network, I just wanna know what's going on, I don't care what the reporter thinks...
And the end user pays for that bandwidth. Why should Apple have to pay extra to compete with Comcast’s streaming platform?

Wow, this topic really went down the rabbit hole since someone cherry picked dial-up when DSL was also mentioned, which is absolutely broadband. So what does a PCI slot have to do with anything? Modems are still sold today. They come as external and can connect to any Mac should you be crazy enough to desire such a thing.
