I am still not seeing 10.3 in my Apple Updates. Bought it third party, but it seems like there was a standalone manual update when I updated to 10.2.3. Any tips from the crowd?

Funny you should mention that--I'm disputing it now with PayPal because it was purchased from a seller on eBay claiming that the money spent went to benefit some charity (and I mean the majority of the money, not a small %) but he has not been responding to my messages for a couple of days and I now see that he's no longer selling any items whereas at the time of purchase he was selling FCP, Logic and more, for below retail cost.

How does that even work? Applications purchased through the MAS are bound to the Apple ID, just like purchased media from the iTunes Store.
Unless the seller also sells his or her Apple ID, the software is stuck at the version you bought it at, as it is probably just the copy of the FCP X file in the applications folder.

Nah, not "forked". Like I said, if the seller was dropping illegal files on eBay PayPal will cover me. I'll just use the refund toward a purchase of 10.3 through the iTunes store.

Don't do that! Use the refund to buy some discounted iTS cards, the balance shows up in the MAS. I bought $300 worth at 20-25% off - I'm patient... - so my FCPX cost was about US$230. 😀

Am I the only one who noticed with the past few updates, they added some new video effects? The most noticeable one to me is "Rain" in the Stylize section. Could this mean they plan to bring back the old iMovie video effects to Final Cut Pro X?

How to change mono to dual mono?

Does the audio have the data for stereo?
Chech the Inspector and see if it has the option.
If not and you really need to pan/whatever, just duplicate the connected audio clip and place.
