Buy shake 4.1. Have no fears about it being outdated. Major production companies are still using it because it is a damn fine piece of software.
Believe me if it was good enough for Lord of the Rings, King Kong and dozens of others, it'll be good enough for anything you throw at it.
It really is an incredibly simple app to get on board with unlike certain others (cough - nuke - cough) - actually nuke is incredibly powerful but has features most users will never need.
Shake cheap, easy to learn and incredibly powerful.
PS - It is the badgerbadgerbadger but i've had it a while now. Might look into something else. Maybe Team Fortress related...
