And if there is one feature I'm really hoping for in the new iPhone, it would be a notification LED. It's the ONLY thing I miss from having a BlackBerry.

Isn't there a phone out there that only illuminates a small section of the screen for notifications like this? Maybe the iPhone 6 will have something similar.

To do it properly, you need an AMOLED screen, something Apple doesn't (and probably never will) do.

That's a fair point but at the loss of a very convenient feature.

why? does that smart watch need it to go to the lock screen to work. if it does then it's not really very well done

Toggle do not disturb and enable calls from everyone... Then when a message will come, the screen won't brighten.. But ur messages will be received..you will be able to see on your lock screen also.. The calls will normally come.. And u will be able to see them on ur smartwatch too..But yes, this is at the cost of sound... Your won't ring to alert u

Do you have a Pebble? If so, turning on Do Not Disturb on the phone allows the notifications to hit the watch as usual, but doesn't light up the phone screen or make the phone vibrate.

I use this feature all the time - you're right, it does offer some minimal battery savings.

Only think I miss from Android... Led notification light and Swype...we're getting at least one in a couple months

Ditto to this. The soft white pulse was great on the various Nexus handsets I have had.
