My PowerBook...

Click for full size.

Will post the iMac G5 later...:)

Where do you get that desktop picture? I have seen variations of it before and just love it!

Ok so it's my horribly outdated pentium II running winblows 98(not to fret my powermac is on the way!) but atleast bender gives the machine some cred:

Very cool, they look great on a rotation. I just did the same on my PB. Hope you don't mind ;)

I'm sorry, but I have ripped you off completely, and now have the same exact desktop setup as you. AWESOME!!! Plus I'm in a LotR kind of mood, since I recently got the LotR EE set. Beautiful cases and beautiful movies!

I have no problems with good taste... :D

I'm very happy with them... quickly made a BootPanel to fit... (The "original" BootPanel at 2.8 MB can be found here, if anyone's interested, opening the jpg attached here in preview and exporting it as pdf will also do the trick...)

Ohhh, hate Windows, after a couple of bad cases of "try getting rid off all the virus/worms/adware/spyware from an old un-patched machine, and then try to get everything patched and updated before it's infected again"... :(

Ohhh, love Bender... where did you find that desktop...? :D

Sorry still on Windows. Trying to save up for a Mac Mini, or an iBook. Anyhow, here's the desktop from my work machine. (using the Blue Marble images mentioned above, modified by me)

Nice shot :)

thanks!

After the fog lifted and left the hoar frost, it melted in 30 minutes when the sun came out. Limited window of opportunity there. And I had to use my little Canon S30 - not a very good camera and had limited depth of field. If I had used a DSLR I would have had more detail in the foreground and less in the background (what I really wanted). But I have to wait a little longer on the Canon 20D......

ahh yes I had this machine dropped into my lap as it was all that was available in my price range at the time (aka FREE) and it's just tiding me over untill my g5 arrives. As for the desktop I found it at:

Winter in Indiana - just shot this this morning....

Nice job Mr. Anderson. Do you have some similar pictures? Was this picture taken in your yard? Do you still have snow on the ground?

Yep, still snow, and it was taken in the neighbors yard right off the street.

I'm indulging my yearnings for obscure electronic music, and Maybach mayhem thanks to my mini-DVI port.

HAHA I apologize profusly. I had hoped Bender would over rule any one's post-windows-trama but I was wrong. lol

Brap, what's up with your connection to that train picture? I see its also in your avatar. Any special meaning?
Geek pride. It's like gay pride, only different - less socially acceptable!

I took both photos at gala events... they're old diesels from the mid-1960s - Maybach, Voith/Mekydro powered diesel-hydraulic beasts. I guess from the morbid historian's point of view, I appreciate the technological breakthrough these things were. At the same time, as pieces of industrial design they're stunningly beautiful (IMHO).

It's quite interesting going to diesel galas as a fairly well rounded, socially skilled 22 year old - you meet loads of really nice people, but who haven't quite got the hang of conversation just yet! Count the anoraks...

I wonder if elizabeth will disown me later on in this thread
