I can careless anymore how many iphones on 1 truck. I just got my AT&T fedex tracking number so I know I am getting 1 now.:D:D:D:D:D:apple:

Not surprised. Last time I was at the Apple store (day after iPad 3G released) there was a police officer right in the center of the room. He kept staring at me I think.

It's a good feeling knowing your getting one! I have mine reserved at the apple store, but im still going early for the whole crazy experience!

Nice way to use the absolute largest dollar amount "possible" to value your point. I'm sure they are full of 32 giggers.

Imagine all the old 18 wheeler trucks full of cabbage patch dolls, playstation 2's or even more recently xbox 360's & playstation 3's when those were so desired! I'm sure they didn't have armed guards either. This isn't the movies where people are knocking over trucks.....

Oh really?

Yeah a lot of you are blowing this way out of proportion there will be no armed guards riding with the freaking Fed Ex drivers get serious. People are not going to stake outside of the Apple distribution center and learn the routes and when and where the trucks will be. Not to mention if someone did steal a whole truckload of iphone 4's they would not be hard to catch. People will talk, and if you see someone selling a bunch of iPhone 4's on ebay or other site they would be investigated and asked to provide proof of purchase. A big LOL to all the gullible people that believe Fed Ex will be hiring "ARMED" guards to ride along with them:eek:

Yea you think it would be easy to find a stolen trailer? HMMM it happens all the time. It's easy to make a PO # and say you paid for it and sell soo many iphones. Most of the stolen trailers end up in mexico and come back cross the border clean.

You want to bet.

Sure, how much would you like to wager? Say 1 truckload of iPhones? :rolleyes:

Just for fun...each iphone box is supposed to be ~5"x3"x2.5". So, a 48x40 pallet can hold roughly 128 per layer and thats 2.5" high... so say you stack a pallet 48" high...thats 19 cell phones high....

128x19 = 2432 per pallet x 22 pallets? 53504 per truck... x 600 each... $32mil?

That would NEVER happen. I just dont know why people think these trucks are going to get robbed.

Hmmmm...perhaps because it has happened before?

Yah they Arent going to put 30 million dollars worth of product on one truck, that's insane.

True, but it doesn't have to be that many to make it a big target.

You're gullible to think they would never get robbed and that all thieves are caught.

Makes sense

In this economy crazy things are happening all over and in nice areas, such as mine. I have heard a lot of bad stories lately of bad people coming to our area, it crazy. So if it was my company I would gaurd my trucks, even though they have insurance but I'm sure apple is supplying the gaurds.
At my local Apple store in Walnut Creek, Ca there was only 2 Apple employees watching the palets when the store was getting the new Macbook Pros in. If I was a bad person I could have easily snagged one or two without them even noticing. It's a great area, but you never know who's around to just pull up and snag about 50 laptops worth way more, and if I worked there and some guys pulled a gun it's there's. I was in shock there was no real security, when I saw all those boxes out there. Anyway I believe it, and Apple wants to make sure their products make it to our hands and mainly are credit cards. So pay a few bucks just to be sure. I would bet it's simple security, not like the movies, just a Gaurd to call things in if something happens. Again these are crazy times and sad. For example I rarely post anything on facebook anymore about my stuff due to stories about iPads being stolen, and I personally know everyone on my list. Good areas or bad, crazy things happen.
