I would feel like a tool using an iPod touch alongside any phone other than the iPhone. But not because I care about what other people think of me. I would feel like a tool because there's absolutely no need to carry two devices when an iPhone does everything both the iPod and phone can do, all-in-one.

I do, however, carry both my touch and my iPhone on occasion, usually because I anticipate being out for an extended period of time and want longer battery life / gaming time. ;)

See I think owning an iPhone and an iTouch is redundant and pointless.

If you already have an iPhone theres no need for an iPT. And if your saying that you want extra battery life - buy an external battery, wayyyy cheaper.

Fine, except that not all of us live in places where the iPhone was sold before the touch was released. ;)

I bought my first iPt in 2007, bought my iPhone 3G on launch day last year, and replaced my 1st gen iPt with a 2nd gen last fall, because my wife uses it and she wanted the speaker because our two year old plays games on it from time to time. She doesn't want an iPhone (having seen how many times I've had to get mine replaced for hardware issues) so the iPt is fine for her.

But hey, you're probably right. There's no reason anyone would want both an iPhone and an iPod touch.

Looks like I didnt have the whole story :p

Its perfectly logical to have an iPT and an iPhone if theres two different people using the device - but one person being the primary user of both seems redundant and pointless.

That's ok, it's a long story. ;)

And I agree with you. The only reason I'd carry both, all the time, would be for the 32GB storage, if I needed that. Which I don't. Not that I would mind having a 32GB iPhone, but that's another story. :)

I carry 2 phones around all the time. Sometimes 3. Sure people think I'm weird, but so what?

It was weirder when I moved 3 laptops, 3 cellphones, a PDA, and 2 iPods through airport security. People looked at me like I was crazy.

Last year when my dad was having a major surgery I had a bunch of work still to do, so I had to take four laptops, eight phones, and eight iPod Touches (for testing).
