I dont have 5-7 tabs open at a time, and what I said still stands correct and nothing I have said is actually incorrect, i understand your pro Android but plenty of videos online show the Note 4 and Nexus 6 reloading apps just as often as the 6 Plus and 6.(browser tabs stay open longer on Android. But app reloads are about the same )

My 2013 Nexus 7 on Android 5.0.1 reloads just as often it not more then my 6 Plus with apps, it holds a few tabs open more in the browser when I stay in it, but when i leave the Chrome Beta on my N7 2013 on Lollipop with 2GB of RAM, It reloads aswell.

Im biased for stating what is correct? Talk about insecurity lmao....whats your agenda? Me stating correct factually things doesnt make me bias in anyway
The most crucial is that tabs do not reload when you are browsing. I have up to 9 tabs of full sites opened in Samsung browser without reloading on my Note4.

Even if I leave the browser and open other apps the tabs are intact when I go back to the browsers. If I have left the browser for a long time the page will reload (as it should be because the page is already out dated)

I kid u not but I can have 6 tabs open I can then go check my Facebook and then go back and open one of my safari tabs and I have no reloading at all it takes me back to where I left off, I then go to another one of my tabs and samething no reloading at all.

decided to do some monitoring and got a free memory cleaner from the store. Found that when my RAM drops to 1%,(should never get that low) which can happen quickly the phone pretty much won't open stuff or do anything. I hafta agree this is pretty poor performance for a very expensive top end device. A push of a virtual button cleans it all and good to go again, but still....Now I know iPhone 6+ is not all that I had thought and actually grossly lacking in simple performance functions that years old android and even WP can easily do. For being a first time iPhone owner this is indeed a wake up call. I feel kind of gyped.:(

Agree with this...we should not have to manage memory with a flagship device which is the most expensive phone on the market.

I suspect its part of the product life cycle. Apple intentionally left out the extra RAM in the first iteration so that it would be one more reason to upgrade to the "S" model (or whatever they will call it) next year. Kind of like what they did with the iPad Air / Air 2.

Makes no sense at all, so when your close to full RAM usage you cant use the phone anymore? It stops opening apps and things like that? Im gonna have to call BS on that because that has never ever happened to me, that isnt normal behavior at all and actually cant happen because that isnt how iOS works, are you sure you dont have a Japanese iPhone knockoff lol?

That sounds like your device is defective if that happens, you should get a replacement becauss your device is clearly defective

Makes no sense at all the post you quoted, he claims he cant open up anything anymore or do anythinng on the device when it gets close to full RAM usage, which is actually BS, as iOS doesnt work like that and that isnt normal behavior at all

So the claim is that the memory use reaches capacity and the now new apps load? Or am I misreading/misunderstanding? Because even if you reach max capacity, ram should/does get freed up to load something new.

Not being able to load new apps means the device is not working as intended. Again, sorry if I am misreading something here.

wrong. 6 plus and 6 both have ever so tiny bit over 1 GB of RAM, the SoC has a dedicated 4 mb SRAM pool that is super fast

How am I wrong? They both have 1GB RAM and the 64-bit architecture of the 5S and onward models uses more RAM vs 32-bit.

What does the SRAM pool have to do with anything? I can compare my iPhone 5 side-by-side with my 6+ and notice that the 5 can hold more tabs open in Safari without reloading vs the 6+.

I didn't mean my phone stopped working altogether, apps like Netflix would open but they couldn't open the films even to read what they were about. Disappointing to say the least. News apps open but videos just load forever. Don't know how long it might take for the OS to regenerate itself as I didn't wait more than 20 minutes before manually cleaning it out. Then all was fine again. It's been years since I've had any device bog down due to low RAM issues. I'm no Apple IOS guru, just a casual user, not even a heavy user. I can live with it once I begin to understand how it functions and what's needed to clean the memory. Just don't know if I'd come back for another IOS device down the road. ive got to much invested in this phone to get something different. I think it's do-able the way it is, just kind of pisses me off considering the cost and all. I'm new to this OS and iPhone. That's why I stop in here to get info.

EDIT: I just noticed something, first like I said I'm new with iPhone. What I noticed is I did an iCloud sync about 2 hours ago. First time in 4 weeks. Now my working memory seems to be holding a lot better. It's not dropping off like before and is actually holding steady at 34%. Would syncing have helped?

I had mistakenly quoted you for someone else

I'm not sure If the reloading is only affecting some units but mine has no reloading issues at all.

It does, you just aren't exploiting the limitations in your usage pattern. I was expecting tab and app reloading, and it's the main thing which almost made me switch to Android. What I wasn't expecting was the reloading to be *worse* than my iPhone 5!
Not only can I have fewer browser tabs open, but when I'm searching in the Ebay app and come out to check something online, when I return to the app it reloads and clears my search! That is *seriously* limiting when it comes to basic functionality. To have a phone two generations newer performing drastically worse than an older iPhone is just unforgivable, especially when it's comfortably the most expensive 'smart' phone on the market.

How many tabs do u have open I only had 6 opened maybe I need to have more open in order to notice it.

I think some of the problem has to do with how ios manages safari tabs as their own process now. I remember my iphone 5 on ios 6 could hold 8 tabs fully loaded in safari and at least 8-10 other applications fully loaded and ready when switched too. It was awesome! I remember doing something for a long time in safari and then switching to tweetbot and then some other apps for awhile and then going to play a word in words with friends and having it still loaded in ram and it was just awesome for it to be able to keep everything for so long in the background. Then ios 7 came and I started to notice less and less apps that would be hanging in the background and have to be reloaded. It was bad yet... Now after I sold my i5 an picked up the i6 I've noticed not many apps at all can stay backgrounded especially if you have more than 2 tabs or so open in safari. And I've noticed safari really doesn't have a priority anymore like it used to and it clears tabs at will whenever. Before in the ios 6 and lower days I think it kept safari in memory as long as it could before purging. I would like to see that behavior come back! I think they could program it like that! I think ios 8 is still a mess. Maybe they created this problem so we will all solve it by buying the iphone 6s next year with 2gb of ram! Lol

Im also gonna have to call BS on this one. Do you remember the old days of windows smart phone edition? Well I do, and I used alot of those devices back in the day. Also Symbian s60 variety, those OSs had a built in task manager that you had to go in every once in a while and get ram usage under control.

The reason iPhone is so popular with the general mass and even people like my wife who has zero technical knowledge, hell she walked around with flashlight on because she didnt know she had to swipe up and turn it off, is because iOS eliminates the need for task managers and such and will work like a champ. I have never seen anything of what you are describing where iPhone becomes unusable. That is a load horse manure.

I went looking on my 6 to see how much memory I am using and I can't find that information. So I did a Google search on free memory iPhone 6 and every hit only showed how to find out how much hard disc space was left. How do I find out how much memory I have left?

Old apps are offloaded too quickly. You don't have to be running much to reach the limit.

Doesnt happen with me, i just tried the same thing as you did...seems like your device is defective or you might have TLC memory or something cause mine doesnt refresh doing that. Judging by all your posts, your device seems extremely defective with slow sluggish performance to your screen not responding well to all these issues you seem to have

Get a replacement from apple.

And the i5 doesnt even come close to the 6/6 Plus in performance/experience

Obvious troll account is obvious (not you, the person we called out)

Doesn't happen to me as well i can have 7 tabs open and none of them reload I also don't have the performance issues others have discribed, I have checked and I my phone has MLC it seems that the ones that have TLC are the ones having these issues.

No... that's not what i was asking.

The way I read some posts its that they reached a limit and could literally not load anything after the fact, even if they tried.

There is absolutely not enough ram. I have reached the limit many times (easily). What I have never seen happen is my phone lock up as a result.
