Yeah.... I think the Grand Cherokee is a great vehicle, all in all. And the Wrangler can't be beat for its versatility as an off-road 4x4 you can still drive daily on regular roads.
I like the lifetime/unlimited mile warranty Chrysler is still willing to sell people too. I invested in that for my 2014 Wrangler, betting that it will come in handy at some point - since this Jeep is a vehicle I plan to keep for a long time.
But I really dislike that mentality that "it's just an off-road 4x4 vehicle, so those people don't care about the technology in the radio". I hear that claim a lot, but the Wranglers have evolved to add more and more "creature comforts" like leather seating, automatic climate control, etc. I think people who spend the money on models above the "base model" are looking for the smartphone integration and everything else these days, because we DO plan on using these Jeeps as daily drivers in most cases. Most of us can't afford what they cost just to keep them for weekend camping trips or rock crawling off-road adventures.

I have a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I absolutely love. I wouldn't trade it for anything! (except for maybe a CarPlay version of it). When we (DC area) had 3 ft of snow last winter, I was out the next day. When we went to the outer banks and drove on the beach, nearly every car/suv was stuck in the high sand except for the Jeeps. I know nothing about cars but Chrysler offers a lifetime/unlimited miles bumper-to-bumper warranty (that I paid $2,198 for), so if it does break (hasn't yet -- at 70k miles now), oh well..I won't be paying for it.
My wife bought a 2015 Dodge Challenger last October and that is an awesome car too. Too bad they didn't get a CarPlay update, because they are much better radios that the old 430/730s.
I agree with the above poster that it is a shame that the Wranglers are still using the old 430/730 radios! Although, people don't buy the Wrangler for a great smartphone integration, but still. The new Wrangler will be out in 2018/2019 and I assume those will finally have modern radios in them.
