I enjoyed the Germany game. Given they didn’t rest that many players makes it an even better result for Ecuador.

Unfortunately I might not be home in time tomorrow night for the England game as I’m working in London.

A few of the round of 32 knockout matchups are becoming known…

Brazil v Japan
Netherlands v Morocco
USA v Bosnia-Herzegovina

Brazil v Japan could be a very good match, as Japan actually beat Brazil in a pre tournament friendly. There is a big Moroccan diaspora in the Netherlands, so there are some bragging rights involved in that matchup.

One (idly) wonders whether those people busily promoting these notorious "hydration" breaks (which, as we all know, have little or nothing to do with commercial or advertising imperatives) would be quite so warm and enthusiastic in their support of the reinstatement, or reintroduction, of the classic tea, or coffee, break in the office, factory, or standard work environment.

Hoping Croatia knock Portugal out after what they served yesterday against Colombia

Left my friend's house at Half Time and went home to sleep.

I thought the Colombia / Portugal match was quite compelling for a 0-0 result. Colombia was dominant for wide stretches of the game, with only a toe length offside preventing them from scoring a winner they would've deserved. They're a dangerous team.

Portugal would play such fluid attacking football if only Cristiano Ronaldo wasn't slowing them down. It's a real waste. However, their vaunted midfield could barely cope with Colombia.

In probably the lowest quality game of the World Cup so far, Canada defeat South Africa 1-0 to become the first team to advance in the knockout stages.

There should be some higher quality matches today. Brazil / Japan and Netherlands / Morocco should both be intriguing battles between fairly evenly matched teams. Morocco in particular has a great chance to advance IMO.

They are intriguing matches, because Brazil and The Netherlands are amongst the teams that traditionally are in the top few from Europe and South America counted as being strong teams. But Japan and Morocco are amongst the best from the rest of the world, and it’ll be interesting to see whether they advance.

Some of our Royalties 👑 will attend our game against France. Together with some political Swedes with occupation in US.
Know that I'm not that interested of the Swedish Royalties etc. in general, though I certainly respect them.

But who is really pushing this is the 10 year old Prince Oscar (9 yrs at that pic) and he is really super interested and carried an Alexander Isak shirt in that photo when he visited the National Team together with hos father, Prince Daniel, before the team left to US.
Hopefully this will support and boost our team greatly.
But regardless of how the result will be, I think the lil Prince is amazing.

Paraguay win the PKs which is the greatest PK competition this World Cup. The sheer arrogance of Germany was their downfall. The World Cup is brutal to the loser.
