I did get an Adonit Jot (not touch) awhile back and could never get used to that disc on the end.

THIS, however, I'm interested in - the Adonit Jot Script. How they market it makes me wonder if it's ONLY for note-taking apps, or, can it be used with art/painting apps as well?

Plus the Adonit Jot with the Disc has been known for leaving scratches in the iPad screens. Just check out the reviews on Amazon. Was considering one myself, until I read a number of them.

All that camera motion in the video makes it hard to watch. Very distracting. A suggestion of that hyperactive camera technique here and there would have been fine.

A video style more along the lines of the Paper video on FiftyThree's site would have enabled me to focus on the features and benefits of the Pencil stylus vs wondering who shot this thing.

I've been all Apple for a long time now, but I'm considering a Samsung Tablet for this reason alone, to be able to write properly on a tablet so as to replace paper and pencil. I didn't understand why Apple didn't include a Wacom digitizer with the iPad 1 and I still don't. Yeah for most usages it's unnecessary, but some tasks just require it, and writing with a crayon just doesn't cut it. It seems to me they are losing a fairly large market here.

And there is the question of battery.

Many functions don't need a digitizer so is it worth the costs, weight, battery hit etc that would come with it. Many buyers would say no.

Sorry, I'm not an expert of these kinds of screens, but would it be possible to turn off the digitizer automatically when not using it?

As for size and weight, while I know some people who might mind, I don't mind it being a little thicker. IMO, the current iPads are, if anything, too thin. But hey, that's just my opinion. If you have a different opinion, more power to you.

Honestly, while it is awesome for note taking, I'm not sure it's quite right to draw with. I'm not an artist but when you draw with it, especially slowly, you notice some imperfections, it doesn't feel the same as when you write text.
