Wow, F-You very much Apple. I JUST passed the 30 day return for my 128GB IPP LTE model. Now you have one for $20 more than the 128GB model.

You screwed me over the very last time.

Could this possibly mean that you will buy an HP tablet from now on?

Right, we should all base everything on nearly confirmed RUMORS now should we? I'm still ok with my IPP LTE 13 but seriously Apple you really know how to d-k with people who pour money down your toilet. 4 months after this supposedly SUPERIOR MOTHER OF ALL IPADS come out you release the same one but in 10" size and give it more love like updated camera system and display panel while you claim the 13 was the best.

This is why I'm pissed off.
Ditto. This is another of my frustrations. I'd have a little different point of view if this was released 9-12 months later, but 4 months later? This doesn't ruin the iPP 13" but it screws those of us that bought their "greatest" iPad. This is flat out a punch in the gut, Apple: "So we decided to give our 9.7 iPad better tech and specs, but since you all already paid top dollar for our greatest iPad in November... here's an iPP with 256GB now, hopefully you; our loyal customers will be okay with us totally screwing you."
And before someone says, "you should have waited to see what they'll do for the pro in the spring"... don't.... there is NO WAY we would have known that Apple was even considering 256GB storage for any device... Let alone their super duper "most powerful and greatest iPad ever".... Until 4 months later.

Four months the IPP was superior. Technology waits for no one.

Fudge, what a joke Apple. So how does this work, I have to sell my iPP on Craigslist and lose 200-300 bucks to get the 256GB model? This is ridiculous they waited til now to give the iPP 256.
Also despite the fact a camera on a large iPP is not as realistic than a phone it's stupid the iPP mini has a better camera and better tech than Apple's 4 month old "greatest iPad Ever." I realize tech advances like crazy, but Apple really screwed people IMO. I would have loved to have been able to buy that 256 back when the iPP was released. I needed that space So now I get to play the fun game of trying to sell this iPad and get some kind of return so I can purchase a device that should have been released 4 months ago.
*first world problems to the max, but frickin ridiculous nonetheless.

The camera part is fine with me, because they had to add the bulge onto the 9.7" model to fit the camera system in. Personally, I would rather have an inferior camera system than that god awful bulge.

The 256GB option being added, however, makes me livid. Really hate when they do stuff like this...

The camera bulge is so different on an iPad than an iPhone. I don't ever have my iPad naked it's always in a case and it doesn't bother me. The 5MP front FaceTime does. The back camera using the latest iPhone 6S does as well because now I can scan documents using that superior camera a lot better and now to throw more salt in my wounds they release one with dual tone camera flash. Unwieldy to use on a 13" iPad, however. But hey, that band 12 LTE from Tmobile on the new IPP is just what I wanted. I'm pissed!

Ridiculous logic here. Then don't buy ANYTHING. There will be superior tech every 4 months later. Do you even own an IPP?

There is always newest and greatest. By your above logic as well it should not bother you that a newer device has all of these new "upgrades" over the 12.9" as this is now 4 months later.

Oh and I did own an IPP before ditching it last month when all those rumors were going full force as I knew I'd prefer the same package in a smaller form factor..

This kind of secrecy at Apple is really, really annoying. Got burned by the iPad 3. Got burned by the iPad mini 2/3 with it's washed out inferiorly gimped display. Now this IPP LTE model supports band 12. Sheesh, no love for customers from Apple.

Thinking about it, I am keeping my iPP....screw you Apple!... Yes I know it's like an oxymoron or ironic to say that, but I'm going to keep my 128GB model. It's a huge hassle to try and sell iPads and an iPad Pro is even harder due to it being a much more niche product. Apple doesn't even do trade-ins for the Pro anyway so I'll just stick with this guy, (he's flawless and I also don't want to play the whole finding the right screen and non wobbly home/volume buttons, my iPad is perfect for a change.) I perhaps might upgrade to 256GB with the next gen. But for now I'm happy with what I have.
***but just so everyone knows I'm still pissed, and Apple can still shove it.;)
(I will still enjoy their products, and I also need to use them for work and school) but their business practices are beyond bull crap.
...Not to be "that guy" but I do wonder if Jobs would have done this crap to customers.
Honestly, I'm not as angry about not having 256, but it's more of the principle of it.

I just ordered the 256GB iPad Pro. Will be creating a backup and wiping my 10 day old 128GB iPad Pro and returning that ish...

What secrecy. Apple events are pretty much Tim Cook reading MacRumor's front page for the last 6 months, with better wording and extensive use of "awesome", "best ever", "the best", "ever created", "amazing".

Everything that was rumored turned to be true. There is no secrecy anymore at apple.

Smaller iPhone SE? Check (the guy even said "as some of you know... the SE").
iPad Pro 9.7? Check.
No AW refresh but instead new bands? Check.

Your problem seems to be unconformity not even with new technology but just the fact they introduced 256 and your so required band 12.
If that's the case why buying something that didn't comply to your requirements? Seems like if you need band 12 so badly, why getting it a month ago and not just waiting?
Also seems to me like you don't really need 256, but just "the highest capacity available".

And guess what, everybody that buys the IPP 9.7 (like me) will get "screwed" on September when they announce the iPad Pro 2, 2x faster, 5x processing power, 3D touch, so on so forth.

Technology always goes on. I say in a cheeky way that I got ****ed by Apple when I got the 3rd gen but in reality I used it for over 3 years now, and it's time to upgrade. I needed it then and I got it, then came a new model every year but I had no reason to upgrade as the 3 was serving me well.

You reminded me of the guy in

Just found out and very glad to see this but this is typical Apple logic - to screw you 1st gen buyers over but not enough like screwing over IPP 9.7" 1st gen buyers:

IPP 12.9" supports USB 3.0
IPP 9.7" supports USB 2.0!

I think it's awesome, and will hopefully be a gateway to a more complete OS on the iPad Pro's.
I'm willing to bet that it's on the way, but Apple is, while sometimes late getting to the plate, great at making the software and hardware work cohesively.
My first tablet was an Asus Vivotab RT 32GB, the OS took up 16GB's of it!! I don't think Apple wants to compromise that much space, or at least offer more of it to compensate.

Alternatively, it's about time!

No I sure don't own an IPP. I got one last November when they came out and decided it was just not for me. I may buy this new smaller unit but am very cognizant of the fact that it will be technologically outdated in a very short period of time. That doesn't mean that the device becomes useless. On the contrary, my ipad air is still used everyday. I don't buy Apple devices to turn around and flip or hope to make at least some of my money back after using them. I buy Apple devices because I like something about them and the way they make me feel when I use them.

You simply could have returned it. Went and did something over the weekend and made if you didn't like what you heard repurchase a 12.9 or if you liked what you heard wait until the 24th to preorder.

Honestly, I think you made the right decision.
I was looking at the 12.9 but was upset it merely had a storage boost. I pulled it from the cart.
That gave me the chance to look at the 9.7.
Why apple is dicking us around with a better screen but slow lightning port.
Why not use the same lightning port as the 12.9?
If I had a 12.9 I would struggle dropping down to the smaller screen size.
Unfortunately my home button on my air2 is going; $380 to fix.

I can't see dealing with the slow USB port since I do transfer a lot of pictures and videos.

The way I am looking at this is, the next iPad 12.9 will have a better screen, retain the faster USB port.

After seeing the offerings today the 12.9 is still king. Save you pennies for the next 12.9 upgrade

Too late anyway to return. I'm not selling for a loss just because of band 12 LTE. Nor the camera features are worth my attention either. I did buy the new smart camera adapter that has the USB 3.0. I will plug in a hub with all sorts of devices to test it. I'm happy with the 12.9" the display is just great to use everyday and I am not ok with the smaller screens.

I just cannot believe Apple pulled another iPad 3 F-U again. 4 months from time of sale and wow, new camera system, new LTE antenna, new display for the smaller sibling. There is nothing PRO at all. Phil Schiller is a lying sack of dung

So does this mean we get 1TB about 5 years later? More on-board storage is great in any capacity but we definitely need higher speed bus at the same power efficiency. I'm hoping that storage will come faster than 5 years as well as raising storage limits for iCloud. I would pay double for 4TB if they offered it.

It's fine if they need a little longer to launch it, but if they knew they were going to launch it in 4 months, it would be nice if they mentioned as such during the November keynote.

Some companies make such announcements. But all it takes is for one component manufacturer to not deliver and the whole thing becomes vapourware.

This is a simple memory module upgrade however, not a new type of hardware like Force Touch or Touch ID. I really don't think component manufacturers often miss delivery of simple spec upgrades to an already-existing type of hardware.

Either way, this will not stop people who are satisfied with 128GB from buying, and those who are willing to wait, will wither wait more or just buy the 128GB if they really need it after some time.
