And Sony is amongst my favorite brand for Android devices. Android isn't designed for tablets, just that. Not to speak about apps ....

My Air 2 is the best tablet I've ever owned but my 2013 Nexus 7 has been very good.
I share your sadness, having invested money in both a Samsung tablet and a Nexus 7 ....Sadly, I agree with you. (Note: not sad that I'm in agreement with you, sad about the fact that Android isn't designed for tablets and apps even less so.)
The former returned and the latter died after 1 year and half ...............
