Also they should add "Remotely pass code lock the phone".

Just in case you aren't one of those people you usually passcode lock their phones. I know I don't, but to be able to lock it down remotely would almost be more useful than remote wipe. So if it is at your house or something or in the hands of someone not untrust worthy, you can just simply unlock it instead of having to resync the thing.

I wish I could sign up my kids on mobile me (too expensive) because I'd like to be able to track them like that.

I have a teen ager who has taken over my son's body. He was the SWEETEST little boy, and overnight he has turned into a little grump, he is so exasperating.

And for my little girl this is a great safety feature.

I think you should have a look at AT&T's FamilyMap: https://familymap.wireless.att.com/finder-att-family/howWorks.htm

Your kids are doomed ;)

99 dollars a year...but you can get it much cheaper from amazon.

Cool.

Why is it that now you have to have a credit card to make a trial on MobieMe?

I bet it's just Apple trying to get people to buy their things.

Tehe...that put a smile on my face. I'm 16 now, but boy oh boy was I a handful to my parents two or three years ago when I entered "that stage" of life.

Remote Wipe Didn't Quite Work

So I thought I'd try out the Remote Wipe Feature to see what it looks like from the phone side.

Yeah. I'm sitting with a dead phone. It wiped for about 2 hours with the apple logo on the screen. Then I did a hard reset since it shouldn't take that long. Now it shows me an apple logo for a few seconds then turns off again. Won't boot so I can restore it with my backup.

Apple support won't help until next week. I have to get on the dev network to initiate support request.

Actually it should take that long, it took that long for me. You just have to let it sit and not touch it. (That's why I did it not with my day-to-day use iPhone 3G but with my old 2G that I just use for screwing around with and testing stuff like 3.0/this.)
