Errr.... the Acid 3 test?
That's run by the Web Standards Project, not W3. Close, but no cigar.*

*This idiom also applies to 3.6's Acid3 results. 94/100. Seriously, it's my only problem with this version. It's been 2 years since Acid 3 came out and it still hasn't been passed by FF?

thats surprising, are you saying Mozilla refuses to follow published standard by W3C? I would love to see an example.

and considering the Acid3 test is meant to test standards compliance as published by the W3C (and others) failure to reach 100 on it indicates a failure to fully comply with web standards.

I keep trying Firefox on every release, but the main thing that makes me go back to Safari is that Firefox, in my opinion, does not display fonts as well as Safari. Fonts in Firefox seem harsher on my eyes for some reason and it causes strain, whereas Safari's fonts seem smoother and better formatted.

The other bells and whistles on Firefox are cool though, it's just the font thing that I can't live with.

considering? not even Ian Hickson himself is putting ACID 3 at that prominent position as you are trying to do.

im confused as why you think ACID 3 is the thing web developers are all looking at, since its picking 1% of the items in the standard.

im also confused why you think scoring 94out of 100 on ACID3 is so bad that it hurts web developers?

Im thinking you are way over exaggerate the importance of acid3.
Ugh.. The personas look horrible on the Mac.. It seems the title bar can't be styled..

more details, currently some of the personas will change the title bar color, but not exactly draw on it. in 3.7 alpha, however, the title bar is fully customizable.

Mozilla is adopting the new approach, with shortened developing cycle and more retroactive incorporating of new features, I think we might see these changes in some 3.6.x releases.

No
Maybe should you read for example this:

Cheers
Maybe you should read that example and my post because there is quite a big difference between them. You're only talking about acid3 which is merely 1 acid test. I'm talking about acid tests, meaning more then 1. As you can also clearly see in that article you're linking to, they only explain what they are testing and not how they are testing it. I'm not talking about the what but about the how. In other words, that article does not apply to whatever you're quoting at all which could have been prevented if you simple read my reply and the article. It is also one of the reason why the browser's console is filled with errors, even in the browsers that passes parts of the test.

Yet, the conclusion stays the same: passing or not passing the acid tests (acid1, acid2 and acid3) does not say much about standards compliance. It just says something, it just gives you an idea.
