autofill is disable by default.

Autofill just fill in top result from your input in awesome bar, its not necessarily your bookmark.

try goto about:config (type that in url bar and press enter, click to acept the warning)
find entry (type any part of the string into filter bar) of browser.urlbar.autoFill double click it change it to false. restart firefox

I don't know since using Safari its hard to go back to firefox. A lot I like in it. ehhh. I'll try it out. Thanks for the headsup!

This new beta is quite fast, but am I the only one that thinks the back/forward button design is hideous? Back to hunting for a make-FireFox-look-like-Safari theme.

EDIT: This one is uber-fantastic.

Do you have a problem with all the rounded buttons or just the big back and forward ones? Because by selecting "small buttons" (or whatever it's called) in toolbar options you can make them smaller, albeit still rounded, like the other ones.

I, for one, love the new Firefox theme and think it is much better than the utterly boring Safari theme. I especially like how the different toned bookmarks bar separates the toolbar from the tabs.

Yeah, I preferred the ones in the previous build when they were the same size.

You mean like this? Cause you can still have that, like I said in the previous post.

This beta looks and feels great so far! Excellent job! So much nicer then Firefox two, looks much more "maclike".

Now I need to figure out which browser to use, ugh. I basically switch between Safari, Webkit, and now FireFox. Will depend on which mood I am in I guess...

Mine's false, but the bar still fills up with bookmarks. I don't want ANY autofill. Any idea how to disable it completely?

Where's the "Home" Button? Cannot locate that one and there is no option that I can see to add it? Thanks!

Bill....:apple:

The home button might be (the first item) in the bookmarks bar or in the customize toolbar menu as a bookmark sized icon with some text. You can move that next to the other buttons if you want.

Hello everyone... first time poster here. And, I'm using my first Mac (Macbook).

Back to the topic at hand --> Do people have problems with Beta 4 crashing constantly? Both v2.1 and Beta 4 seem to crash on a relatively frequent basis on my new Macbook. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Ken

Beta should be quite stable. if this happens alot, like once a day, there might be something wrong, try using a new profile for firefox

IDK, if it behaves strangely, maybe you should try a new profile which should correct any problems (back up passwords, bookmarks first)

check here for the info about new profile for firefox

3.0b4 shut off location urlbar places autocomplete dropdown

Firefox 3.0b4 How to shut off location urlbar places autocomplete dropdown:

1. Open Tab, type in urlbar 'about:config', hit enter.

2. In about:config search box, type 'browser.urlbar.maxRichResults'

3. Double click the entry, change the 25 to 0. This effectively disables the 'places' dropdown which many think is very annoying.

Best regards,

M Chris Neglia
