Yes, the problems were solved, BUT Safari 3.0 Beta is running a MUCH newer version of Webkit than Safari 2.x is.

The WebKit nightlies are definitely newer than the WebKit included in Safari 3. Why would they continue developing old WebKit test versions?

And you'll notice the nightlies are now available for both Windows and Mac OS.

I want to thank the Mac community for helping out so much.

Sorry all, in many ways I'm a total newbie even though I've been using mac for some time now. I only just realized that the beta Safari does not register with the "Software Updates" function, and one has to be willing to do it yourself. Cheers for pointing that out.

From the other 2 browser threads mentioned above, I had some Mac users pointing out that they thought Camino and / or Firefox was faster than Safari? Any comments now that Safari is upgraded? Also, I noticed that I am now using Firefox 2.0.0.4 and the image drop and drag IS working fine now... so what's your vote on which way I should go?

Firefox 2.0.0.4 or Safari 3 beta?

And has anyone else found Nightshade buggy?

Well I have every major browser installed on my system so I can check them for compatibility with my web sites. Safari 3 is definitely the fastest out of the group, followed closely by Netscape 4.8. That wasn't a joke.

Once Safari 3 comes out of Beta (presumably when Leopard ships) it will then become part of the regular Software Update routine.

And Firefox is the clear winner because Safari 3 AND webkit are now both buggy with Blogger.

Sorry.:(
