Does this mean everytime you want to use a 3rd party tool like "Sign-In with GitHub" you're going to have to relogin to that 3rd party tool to get new cookies? (Which for people who use FIDO auth means having to drag out the USB dongle again)

If so then this is just going to suck.
I don't use any of these "log in with ..." things, as I create a new email address for every service. However, what you'd do is put each site that you "log in with ..." into the same container, so that they can share cookies.

So you'd put GitHub into a container and then when you connect to a service that uses that log in, just open it in your "github" container.

you want people to manually manage their cookies? what have you been smoking?

Thanks for the info! Super helpful!

Unfortunately on iOS, its not really Firefox. Only a Firefox skin over safari, as apple doesn’t allow developers to use their own rendering engine on iOS. I hope this changes in the near future, but you can get “real” Firefox on macOS, windows and android.

We all know at this point about any browser in iOS. We like it because we can easily sync bookmarks and other info.

One annoying thing though: The macOS icon is still the "old" style and looks odd compared to other app icons which are optimized for the new aesthetic since Big Sur.
It's unlikely to change. The Firefox icon is part of Mozilla's brand and it deliberately looks the way it does. A Mozilla* employee recently ranted about how some Linux distributors change the Firefox icon to fit the desktop theme, and how they don't like their brand being diluted like that.

*At least, I think it was Mozilla/Firefox. It was a month or two ago.

You could always change the icon to the new style yourself. Right-click app > Get Info > drag image onto icon in top-left corner of info window

That's not annoying at all. What's annoying are the awful square icons for the Apple apps that are impossible to change back to non-ugly "old" icons in 11.

That is a joke as Mozilla releases Firefox for iOS too.

Does this mean I can accept all cookies when I visit a site and it won't make make any difference when it comes to ad tracking?

Yep. That's what I do, also safe in the knowledge they're all deleted when I quit the browser.

I suspect some companies will move over to fingerprinting instead of cookies at some point.

Thanks. I've asked the same question on various forums about Brave and other browsers/extensions and never had a response!

Oh well, maybe it will fit right in with the next aesthetic trend Apple think up. Not like its alone in ignoring that anyway. A quick glance at my own dock shows five other apps not feeling the Big Sur aesthetic. Didn't even notice it until now, because it doesn't actually matter to me. I'm more interested in the applications functionality.
