Does the Alesis have a power-in port for an external power source (i.e., a "power brick")?

They can be bought very cheaply on ebay.

That will solve your problem.

Yes the Alesia has a power supply. Unit works perfect as a stand alone mixer so I know power is working , it also works on my pc running windows 7 32 bit, it's not even recognized on my Mac running osx 10,8.2 which is 64 bit,
 
my 1st mac book pro

I just bought a 2011 17'' i7 macbook pro it has 8gb of ram a 256 gb crucial ssd and there is another 5oogb on a hard drive . the guy took out the cd disk drive to put in the 500gb hdd , what i would like to do is put in 16gb of ram a 1tb ssd and then put back my cd disk drive . This laptop is going to be for making music only !! This will be connected to a m-audio profire 610 via (firewire 800/400 9pin/6pin cable) also my mac usb to a usb port on my 28 channel allen and heath zed428. I would like some imput if this is overkill or should I go another route , like a 512 ssd , or an external hd..thankyou for your time..michael

Does anybody know if Belkin makes a 15ft or longer firewire 800/400 9-pin/6-pin cable ? If they do have one where can i purchase one? thank you Michael..
