There seems to be no noticeable delays in Australia when ordering one now. Ships within 1-3 business days. I just configured one with 24GB / 2TB in Starlight to check for delays and I did it for all possible combinations. The shipping times don't change at all. So not too bad considering how popular this thing was supposed to be.

Not that I want one as I have the 13" which is more than enough for me atm. I worship every Gramm in weight I can save when commuting. The 15" would be a squeeze on a train as well.

I imagine the title is in accurate. Surely no self respecting Aussie /Kiwi would be daft enough to buy a 2023 Mac Pro vanity unit!?
Title should be:

First 15-Inch MacBook Air, M2 and Ultra Mac Studio Orders Begin Arriving to Customers in Australia and New Zealand

the new 15" dos indeed have BT 5.3
Not only that, the M2 13" spec sheet lists its BT as 5.3 as well. It is still puzzling to us if Apple actually updated the M2 13" or not, because before last week all those on shelves were indeed still BT 5.0.

Waiting for some benchmarks - might be a suitable (and cheap) replacement for my 2017 MacBook Pro?
I too have a 2017 MBP 13"/16/256 and went for the 15"/8/512 MBA but almost immediately decided I should have spent a little more for the 14"/16/512 MBP. Faster chip, more ports, better screen.

I'll likely be swapping out the unopened box.

My wife's customized 15" has moved to Preparing to Ship. I hope it beats the June 19 estimate. She also got the Midnight color as a previous post indicating was their choice. My wife is getting her first new Mac since 2018 and is very excited.
What extras have you added?

Looked at some benchmarks on another site - looks powerful compared to my old 2017 MBP

Waiting on benchmarks of the Studio with and without Ultra to decide if it's worth the extra for my use case.

I’m so confused at all of Apple’s products now. What happened to the power of focus, fitting all of Apple’s products on a table? Now their product lineup is more confusing than choosing a dishwasher.

Apple is no longer a small tech company that basically can't afford to have many product lines with many choices. To support gigantic revenue, you need a bigger product mix than- say- Apple 2004 or 1998 when a good quarter might be a good week or so now.

Look up the other trillion dollar valuation companies and you won't find any that have this "focus" you covet. They all have many product lines to help drive the "another record quarter of revenue & profit" results... that prop up those sky high valuations. One of the most notable is Saudi Aramco... which generally has the perception of being the biggest of "big oil." If you check their website though, you'll find that along with their "iPhone" cash cow, they produce many other products too. Why? Because that makes them more money than focusing solely on their "iPhone."

In short, we can't have it both ways: Apple operating like a little tech company focused on few products and hardly any consumer choices AND "biggest company in the world" with "a trillion dollar valuation." Besides, if you could somehow order Apple to shrink the product mix, the weakest contributors would likely be on the chopping block first. Do we want a smaller Apple by jettisoning Mac? Mac + iPad to get really "focused"?

Agreed. And yet the MacBook line is still pretty clearly delineated. The “Air” is the consumer-focused line and the Pro is the professional-focused line. The 14/16” Pros in particular emphasize performance and features over portabilit.

The 13” Pro is an oddity in the current lineup, but like the M1 Air basically seems like an older model (albeit with the M2) carried over for price, which Apple has done before.

The 13” and 15” Airs are basically the same inside. It’s nice having a choice of screen size. Some of us would like a smaller size, as well.

This will sell as poorly as all the other M2 iterations of Mac's.
There is simply not enough improvements to upgrade from the M1....
Most are waiting for the M3's and Apple had better pull their finger out, otherwise sales will be meh again

Most on this forum are waiting for the M3s. But the rest of the world? They see a new 15” option that has never existed before and will pounce at it.

Only tech savvy folks and enthusiasts on forums are worried about the next gen processor... John Q public who makes up the vast majority of consumers have no idea of the difference or just don't care.

I remember when the Macbook Pro came with a 17” screen and now folks are calling 15” “spacious” 😂

Not true on paper. As of last week, all 2022 M2 MBA 13 inch were claimed to come with 5.2. The spec sheet even says so.

All M2 MacBook Airs. M1 MacBook Air is Bluetooth 5.0
Yes, just the M2 Airs come with BT 5.3, whereas prior to WWDC the (13") M2 Air had BT 5.0. Naturally, refurbished M2 Airs are presently BT 5.0, too.
Thanks for the clarification. I don't think about the M1 model anymore.
