5 iphone 15 pro maxs, all different colors, and all of them overheating like crazy. Scrolling caused the screen to skip like its running 5fps. I was trying to sell the iPhones overseas and had to convince a dude this was a new apple feature just so he'd buy it 🤣
My wife upgraded to the 15P, and while she’s on Pinterest or retouching photos her iPhone gets HOT. I’ve been using iPhones since the 3G. And when she handed me her phone it was almost too hot to hold. She’s went to using the safari version of Pinterest and it’s helped her. But while editing pictures or on FaceTime the phone gets hot. Super hot.
I downloaded resident evil to play around with it. It’s a nightmare to play. Once you get to an open area the frame rate drops and it goes to 10-15 FPS. The touch controls are horrendous.
This iPhone iteration feels like dud. She wants her 13mini back. But needed the larger screen to do her photo stuff.
No going back now.
I’m on the 14PM and have no desire to upgrade to a worse phone. Even if the camera is better. Just doesn’t feel like a major leap. We keep getting these teeny tiny bumps in specs. But no real upgrades.
Fancy colors though

Sounds like a warranty exchange to me. Did she consider returning it for a 14 Pro?

She’s contacting our carrier today. She traded in her mini towards this one and we paid the difference. We never make payments on our devices we pay them off up front.
Verizon’s already been less than helpful because it’s been over 15 days. And my wife said if she has to get the same phone she’s buying an android. She doesn’t want a replacement. She’s tired of buying the same phone for more money just like I am. Which is why the 14PM I own may be my last iPhone.

The early component images appear to confirm information shared last week that said Apple plans to introduce a new thermal system on the iPhone 16 to reduce overheating. In addition to batteries with metal shells on the iPhone 16 Pro models, the entire iPhone 16 lineup is rumored to feature a graphene heat-sink to reduce overheating. Graphene has high thermal conductivity, surpassing that of copper, which is currently used in iPhone heat-sinks. Apple has been interested in graphene for thermal management for some time, filing patents related to its exploration of the material for heat dissipation in portable devices.

The moves appear to come partly in response to widely encountered overheating issues experienced with the iPhone 15 Pro, which Apple ostensibly addressed through a software update earlier this year.
Summary:
Apple has been investigating for years in hardware solutions to solve a problem that appeared 2 month ago, was found to be the result of a software bug and is already solved by a iOS update. 🤦‍♂️

it looks like you are as good at linking the dots as conspiracy theorists.

More plausible explaination :
Apple fast charging is lagging behind competition. They are looking for solutions to increase charging power by improving thermal dissipation for the battery.
