I personally really like the App Store, It's a lot easier to find things then going on the Apple website, everything is categorized, but I still think theres room for improvement, because for example when I click on a category for games it doesn't show all games, it gives you options like "New" or "Whats Hot", now thats great and all, but there should also be a "All Games" section.. Apart from that I really like it.. I'm hoping we'll see high quality games on the App Store, I honestly am not a fan of Steam, never have been even on the Windows side.. I'd prefer this over Steam

Good Lord. How many people are really this dumb?!?!? It's not like you couldn't get apps for the Mac last week or last month.

Wise up people. Boycott the Mac App Store. It's bad for you and it's bad for the development community for Apple to be stealing money that should be going to developers.

It can't possibly be stealing. Developers have to enter data on multiple forms and voluntarily click "I Agree" in multiple places before Apple can even start to collect any money for their apps.

Why would any developer do this? Only because a developer thinks they can make more total money by giving 30% to Apple than by selling from their own web site, or though store retail. If they didn't think that, there is no reason for them to put their apps in the App store.

Previously purchased apps not reviewable

From my entry in a comment for the Omni Group blog:

The problem for Omni Group with not having our previously purchased versions in sync with the Apple App store is that those of us who have been using your products are not able to provide reviews of your applications within the store. You are missing out on a marketing opportunity. The OmniGraffle Pro still does not have any reviews within the store. Those of us who use and enjoy your products are unable to supply you with the positive reviews that you deserve.

Sorry, scratch that. I also have the Transmit app and it is showing as installed. When I tried to rate it, I received the following from the App store, “To rate this app, you must have purchased it from the Mac App Store.”

That is really stupid on Apple’s part. Those of us who are in the know of the various applications that we have previously purchased are not able to supply reviews and we are not going to shell out more money for the privilege of doing so.

The Mac App Store should be setup to detect previously installed versions of apps that are in the store and to allow the users to rate and comment on the apps. The store could create a special upgrade price for previously installed apps to upgrade to the App Store version.
