I wonder how Apple intends to set up and demonstrate these speakers. Apple shops are usually quite noisy and not exactly conducive to critical listening.

We’ll find out tomorrow I guess. Australia will be the first of the launch countries to open their doors in about 9.5 hours.

My guess is they will use it as their main audio source for playing music in the store now . What better way to demo it

I would not buy a v1.0 of a new Apple product. Almost guaranteed disappointment. For instance, Apple Watch is only now ready at v3 (1 & 2 were poor betas.) They rush these products out half-baked: iPhone-1, iPad-1 anybody? Crazy.

The homepod will produce great sound and will do basic tasks well with siri. Thats all I need it for.

Ahhh DPD. Management appear to be lovely people...

DPD’s policy is to charge drivers for missing work. The bastards charged a driver called Don, £150 for taking time off work to go to his hospital appointment. He missed subsequent appointments so he wasn’t fined, but the poor guy died recently from diabetes complications. Can’t believe this sort of thing happens in this day and age!

Apple, and other high profile retailers should maybe think twice about using DPD... There is a petition going on https://home.38degrees.org.uk/

So I just walked passed the the Apple shop in Broadway, Sydney and saw one lonely unit pretty much just plonked on one of the tables in the back corner with a couple of other speakers.

Didn’t see anyone taking an interest in it either!

As has been stated at least 209 times, Spotify works with AirPlay. Reviews on Siri as related to music and home automation have been positive. No, can’t order tp or call Uber, but I don’t care about those things. Can’t wait to get mine tomorrow.

I'm still probably gonna end up getting one at some point but I'm not gonna rush in. I know Spotify works through Airplay but my Echo can control Spotify using voice commands. Given how much more expensive the HomePod is, I expect it to do more than it does.
