I wouldn't mind this at all. The iPhone 6 was still the best. So light compared to the bricks we have today
False. It adds rigidity. It’s far stronger than aluminum.Stainless steel was a terrible choice for phones, adds nothing but weight.
Guess Apple will rotate between aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium to keep things fresh. What else is there to do, colorful plastic a la iPhone 5c?With the introduction of the iPhone 17 lineup, Apple is reportedly planning to bring the entire selection of devices back to aluminum.
I am SO bored with the iPhone design. LOVE iOS… bored with the hardware. I am on 14Pro Max and yet still not enough changes to make me feel inspired to "upgrade" so it this 17 is the same design and the past several years… argh… not gonna lie, I am probably just going to stick with 14Pro Max. And I used to trade in every year.
Since Titanium was introduced under Cook this post makes no sense at all.Anything under Cook will be to save Costs. Titanium is very expensive and do that times 10 million iPhones 🤑
And I might be wrong, but I think aluminum disperses heat more than titanium. Not to mention incredibly good looking. iPhone 5/5S/SE was the peak of smartphone design IMO.
You are joking right?Sad if true. The titanium is indestructible! Aluminum is so fragile. One drop and serious damage. This is definitely to make more money.
Sounds bogus. If true it's a method to maintain margins. Can’t think of a good reason to do this otherwise. Curious how Apple will tell the story for why aluminum is a better material than titanium for the flagship iPhone.

it dents far easier than Titanium. iPhone 15 Pro Max caseless for over a year, it is spotless. iPad Pro gets dinged by just looking at it.You are joking right?
even if what you are saying is true, its not like Apple is using pure titanium, its titanium and aluminum molded together.
And its not even on the back. the back is glass on the 15 and 16 Pros.
Plus, since when is aluminum “ fragile”?
its not fragile enough to not be used on the regular iPhones... and the iPads. and the Watches. and the Macbooks and iMacs and actually pretty much every Mac for the last 20 years... and the AirPods Max... and the Apple TV remote...
Nice, finally no complaints anymore that the camera bump isn’t large enough. The new, aluminum camera bump of the iPhone 17 Pro will also apparently be larger than that of previous models.
Possibly baking in the incoming tarrif without a price increase.Yeah, if this is true, it’s really surprising. Especially the fact that they are stopping the use of Titanium on their phones. Once the 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max are retired in favour of the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max / Ultra, Apple will be done with Titanium aside from the replacement units for repairs that require it.
This makes me think if the Titanium supplier has raised prices, or if this is just a measure to lower cost of the Pro lineup. Intriguing…
As for me, my only hope is that, with all of this changes, they introduce a slightly smaller iPhone 17. Not necessarily mini-sized, as the 5.4” proved to be not very propular, but a screen size of between 5.8” and 6” would be nice, keeping the current aspect ratio.

I agree, though I wouldn’t have minded if it had been fully aluminum (if that worked with the antennae). Not to mention incredibly good looking. iPhone 5/5S/SE was the peak of smartphone design IMO.
Exactly! this will be done to save costs. Titanium is far superior to aluminum in every way, as is stainless steel. Next they'll be offering up paper mache' and claim it's for the planet.Anything under Cook will be to save Costs. Titanium is very expensive and do that times 10 million iPhones 🤑
I'll take the iPhone's camera layout any day over thisI just hope they copy other smartphone manufacturers when it comes to camera layout. I still can't believe they've stuck with the hideous camera blob design since the 12 when I thought it was a joke in the pre-release images
