If there was ever a poster boy for Apple fanboys, this dude is it. More power to you man, and try to stay in good health out there in that horrible heat.
I don't work or attend school right now. I'm disabled. See previous post.
Some quick pics before I head to dinner....
He has a weeks worth of clothing, a cooler full of water, his iPhone, extension cords, food, and some other odds and ends. He actually arrived @ 7PM last night. He says it was pretty warm considering it's still June. All the major news channels have stopped by to interview him.
Failed to ask if he had a reservation.
Asked him to join us here, he's probably reading the thread, but not sure if he will create a login.
Told him I'd see him in a week, he feels I'll be at the end of a VERY long line. He expects other campers this weekend.
Thanks for dropping by. I'm already here.
YES!
This guy is too legit if you clowns don't like what he's doing go "contribute to society" like whatshisface said instead of spending all your time on these boards lol.
jwagoner, have you gotten TV coverage yet?
Actually the Apple staff know me well from the past 2 years as their first costumer and again this year. They've been very nice and have allowed to sit in the window waving to everyone during the day. The sun sets right before they close so i don't have to worry much about the heat.

Edit: Hahahaha, just noticed that Justin beat me to it! LOL
I wish I had the patience you do. I don't like waiting a few hours in line, let alone a week.![]()
You read my mind...I am about 30 minutes from that store and I am debating packing up some camping gear + a stove (yeah thats right) go out there and start making some grilled cheese sandwiches and sell them for $1...after I get on the news, be like OH CRAP! I thought this was the lot scene for Phish tour, and my phone is being shipped! WHY AM I HERE!
What a loser. Must be nice to have that kind of time!
AbSoluTc said:Which pic are you referring to? I could care less about SS. Last thing anyone wants to see is O in his underwear. I would probably gouge out my eyes if that ever happened.
Well if you aren't doing anything with your free time, why not? Isn't life about living it too the fullest, even in extreme times?
Greeting to everyone from your famous camper! This is my first official post for MacRumors. One of the users printed off a copy of the thread and brought it to me and I thought it would be fun to join the conversation.
Some would say I am crazy, but I say I'm a very determined fan. In fact I just might be one the biggest Apple fans you will actually meet. I have been the first costumer for this store since 2008 when the iPhone 3G was released.
Normally I only camp out over night, but since I do not work due to the fact I am disabled with a seizure disorder and I am not in school at the point, I figure I just make it a fun experience and do it for a week.
Yes I did reserve a phone, but again, I'm doing it for a fun experience. I haven't had a trip or vacation in past 10 years so I figured I make it a full week camping trip.
My setup and location has everything I could need to live for a week, even in the Texas heat. Tent is packed with a sleeping gear, a chair, full ice chest of drinks and food, and the Apple staff have been very nice to me treating me like a king. LOL I also brought a extension power cord for phone charging and things that need power. There is even a portable toilet around the back of the store if needed.
That been said, I'm actually doing really well out here. If anyone gets a chance, come join the fun!
Justin
Man you deserve props for actually stoping by, are those your print-outs Justin is reading.
Nevermind, I was joking.
Justin again I have to ask, are you planning to shower? Brush teeth? I would smell like a giant pile of chit after a week. Hell I do now and I took a shower this morning.
Hey Justin. Props for you camping out.
Just don't be like this dude.

Good questions you have here!
I have brought myself along some hand wipes I use to bath with and if thats not enough, the Apple staff allow me to use the bathroom out back which is for employees only. I also have tons of supplies including toothbrush/paste, deodorant, a hair brush, sunscreen and bug spray plus other stuff.
Things I learned going to the Apple store today. I will put a disclaimer no one seemed absolutely sure but the last person I talked to (and I talked to an associate who had no clue what was going on, a manager, and another manager/associate who sounded most sure she knew what was going on. I forgot to check out ipod cases so I went back and that's when I talked to the last manager. She sounded pretty confident and I'm giving her answers but the other manager's answers didn't contradict hers at all).
1. Authorized user can buy an iphone without account holder with the account holder's SSN, zip code of account, and account holder's name.
2. They are doing it like they did the ipad where there are reserved ones. if you reserved one, you should have it (barring Apple not sending htem the right amount but they will have ones in reserve for people that won't be sold to walkins basically). She said it shouldn't matter what time of day I come in, they will have a phone for me if I have one reserved (of course I'm still going early cause I don't want to chance it).
3. I can actually pick up my roommate's phone for him if he can't come if I have written authorization from him to do so.
