Things I learned going to the Apple store today. I will put a disclaimer no one seemed absolutely sure but the last person I talked to (and I talked to an associate who had no clue what was going on, a manager, and another manager/associate who sounded most sure she knew what was going on. I forgot to check out ipod cases so I went back and that's when I talked to the last manager. She sounded pretty confident and I'm giving her answers but the other manager's answers didn't contradict hers at all).

1. Authorized user can buy an iphone without account holder with the account holder's SSN, zip code of account, and account holder's name.

2. They are doing it like they did the ipad where there are reserved ones. if you reserved one, you should have it (barring Apple not sending htem the right amount but they will have ones in reserve for people that won't be sold to walkins basically). She said it shouldn't matter what time of day I come in, they will have a phone for me if I have one reserved (of course I'm still going early cause I don't want to chance it).

3. I can actually pick up my roommate's phone for him if he can't come if I have written authorization from him to do so.

now see ya'll can hate and call him a nerd but I GUARANTEE this guy has his ducks in a row (has a reservation) and will walk out of that Apple store with a shiny new iPhone. He won't be the ones who roll out of bed at 11:30 AM and then WHINE AND COMPLAIN when Apple is all out of phones, nor will he be on this board posted up in the "I WAITED IN LINE FOR FIVE MINUTES AND DIDN'T GET AN IPHONE" thread where no doubt people will scream and shout that Apple killed their first born.

I think Pablo said it best :

+1. Spending many hours a day on this site for the next week would be crazy to many 'normal' people too, yet we're doing it. Don't hate!

Pic of myself inside the Apple Store.

Are you ijustines brother? Do you have a shower in that tent? I don't think the apple employees will be too nice when you smell like a skunk on the 24th. :D

I see someone got a pic of absolut and posted it above. lol @ Obama remark. Way to stay under the secret service radar. Or gaydar, if you have seen Obama in his tight pants lately.

Sorry, but have to agree with rwilliams on this one. Why should we have respect for someone who will achieve exactly what the person who strolls in later that day with their reservation and leaves with a fully activated phone for exactly that same price yet was able to actually experience life, interact with people, hang out with friends, play with their kids, sleep in a bed, shower, oh, I don't know, generally contribute to society in some small way.

The second person in line will leave that store about a minute after he does but won't have wasted 6 days and 20 hours of their life. Sorry, no respect here.

Maybe to this guy, sitting outside for a week waiting for the new iPhone is an EVENT--one he would like to remember and tell people in stories for years to come. Did you do anything this week that you'll remember decades from now? Anything worth telling in a story? <3 this dude.

lol.. not sure what to say about this...

the experience of trudging the lines is really only an experience if someone else is in line. otherwise it's just playing with yourself. which dont get me wrong, is fun for a bit. but not a week in a row.

WOW. What people will do nowadays

1. It is 95 degrees here in Dallas today, and will be for the next week, if not hotter.

2. The store will probably give him a free phone for being a fanboy.

3. It will probably be my phone lost in the ATT Premier order fog.

I think he's off of Knox street. What a fool. Its not going to rain here well past the launch so God help him from heat exhaustion . He has to have someone waiting with him .

Which pic are you referring to? I could care less about SS. Last thing anyone wants to see is O in his underwear. I would probably gouge out my eyes if that ever happened.

:D

YES!

This guy is too legit if you clowns don't like what he's doing go "contribute to society" like whatshisface said instead of spending all your time on these boards lol.

jwagoner, have you gotten TV coverage yet?

Some quick pics before I head to dinner....

He has a weeks worth of clothing, a cooler full of water, his iPhone, extension cords, food, and some other odds and ends. He actually arrived @ 7PM last night. He says it was pretty warm considering it's still June. All the major news channels have stopped by to interview him.

Failed to ask if he had a reservation.

Asked him to join us here, he's probably reading the thread, but not sure if he will create a login.

Told him I'd see him in a week, he feels I'll be at the end of a VERY long line. He expects other campers this weekend.

Edit: Hahahaha, just noticed that Justin beat me to it! LOL

Actually the Apple staff know me well from the past 2 years as their first costumer and again this year. They've been very nice and have allowed to sit in the window waving to everyone during the day. The sun sets right before they close so i don't have to worry much about the heat.
