As if MacRumors was forcing you to watch the video.

Oh God I didn't even know there was a video. I was mostly expecting an article with some new information. Unboxing videos, by and large, usually have at least some action in them. Maybe a turned on phone, or displaying how TouchID worked. Or any excitement other than how the earpods are arranged. This was essentially a .gif of packing peanuts.

EDIT: And actually, the video doesn't even work for me. So the article was essentially a couple pictures of boxes.

Remember the days when an iPhone would come with a dock?

I can top that, I remember when the iPod came with a Dock, Pouch, Felt Slip cover for the pouch, earbuds, CD, wall plug and USB cable dock connector that also plugged into the Mac.

Today we are graced with an iPod and USB cable for the Mac. Progress! :D

IMO he doesn't care about these leaks. Everyone knew a new iPhone was due early this fall. You can bet Apple is keeping the stuff it really wants to keep secret off of all rumor sites.

they certainly did a good job at keeping nothing off the rumors site this time around.

Box is for China, no iTunes available in China so therefore no iTunes icon.

Although I'm in HK, I have a US iTunes account, but if I didn't have one, iTunes would basically been new to me as of a year and a half ago. It is astonishing to think about Apple's success even without an iTunes Store.

They should, and they need to. Not to start the whole "Steve would have never allowed this" but it's seriously hurting them. However small updates are going to be, I miss the days when Apple events/keynotes were full of mystery and excitement. Nobody knew what was going to happen until the day Steve pulled out a shiny object from his pocket. Now they're painfully boring and basically just Apple confirming leaks. :(

...might as well change this website to Macleaks. There are no rumors anymore, just hardware parts leaking out of factories left and right. :p

Back in the day was Apple selling anything close to the volume of iPhones? There were zero leaks on the new MacPro and we haven't seen a ton of iPad leaks. iPhone is just too big at this point to prevent leaks.

Remember the leaked 5S box that everyone screamed was fake because the iPhone on the box was front facing and didn't have a wallpaper on it? Seems like they were legit.

As an avid Apple fan, my enthusiasm for these launches has been declining quickly. I don't think that I have ever been as uninterested in a launch as I am this one.

Apple needs to start innovating again. This fingerprint sensor just doesn't cut it. They need to start focusing more on portable storage options, targeting the home/mobile gamer much more effectively, not just 'exploring' new screen sizes, but implementing them, and where's this holistic home entertainment experience that I've been hearing about for 5 years. I think that it died with Jobs.

At least I dumped all of my stock at $612 a share. So thanks for the ride Apple. Unless this new Mac Pro design is the start of your newly defined self, you are going down, and down hard.

Whatever happened to doubling down on secrecy?

There are not going to be surprises with established products in which Apple needs to have millions already built on launch day. It's just not possible.

We had almost no idea what was going to happen at WWDC this year because those are secrets (The Mac Pro, iOS 7, Mavericks) that Apple cares about and are possible to keep secret.

We all think Apple is working on a new device in a new product category. Tim Cook said as much at the last earnings call. Yet we really have no idea what they are working on. That's what Tim Cook is doubling down on.

I remember that too... and back then, the iPod cost $600. (Canadian dollars, anyway.) Plus tax.

They stopped offering all of those things in the box and started selling them separately, $29 here, $49 there, ... it did mean the base price of the iPod package went down considerably.

I remember this because my iPod was my first Apple purchase, and I bought it after winning a $1500 prize from some contest. The iPod was a considerably chunk of my winnings :p
