Why is it that on apple product release/delivery days I always want to run out and buy one? I have an iPad mini 2 and an iPad 3 (yes the clunker), and even as it is I rarely use iPads. My iPhone 6+ gets all the use.
You don't need one... you don't need one...
true...but people will still use it...if they could.I wonder if these devices will be affected by the recent iOS bug.
If so, that's not a good out of the box experience.
My first time with B&H. I wonder if I should just cancel the order and walk across the street to pick one up tomorrow at the Apple Store. I am trying to convince myself that I can wait for a few days and save a nearly 10% sales tax.
"New Zealanders have alreadystartedshared photos and news of their devices on social networks like Instagram, reddit, and Twitter, and a few lucky customers who ordered the 9.7-inch iPad Pro in the United States have also been receiving early shipments, as noted on Instagram, Twitter, and the MacRumors forums."
Okee Dokee...At $900 for the iPad in Australia, the lines will be as big as the last iPad Pro, non existant. I reckon theyll be lucky to sell 10 on the first day.
B&H is awesome and has some of the best customer service I've ever experienced. I've been a long time customer, but mainly for photography equipment. Just recently they price matched my iPad Pro a few times within my 30 day return window because it went on sale. The sales tax alone was worth saving on my 12.9.
If you can afford a plane ticket to Australia you'll easily be able to pick one up there, as long as you dont mind paying $900 for the base model. Now I'm sad I didn't preorder.![]()

More by Apple than anyone else, but yeah we certainly get screwed over.I did a financial analysis report on Australia compared to other nations and continents. Man you people get screwed!![]()
The prices are crazy in Aus! The top of the line iPad 9.7 used to cost us around $900, now costs us $1350.At $900 for the iPad in Australia, the lines will be as big as the last iPad Pro, non existant. I reckon theyll be lucky to sell 10 on the first day.
I doubt they'll sell a hundred, i was one of the first people in Australia to buy the first Pro, there were a few people looking but not many willing to hand over the cash. The guy could hardly contain himself when i said wrap it up.Whilst there wasn't a line down the street, there was a slack handful of customers already being served when I arrived at 10am. I walked in and purchased the model I wanted easily. If that pace continues through the day, they'll easily sell 100+.
Yeah I ended up buying a Samsung Tab S2 for around $540, I'm staying right away from Apple till they wake up, which i doubt they will. The prices are crazy in Aus! The top of the line iPad 9.7 used to cost us around $900, now costs us $1350.
I think even with the exchange rate and GST, we are being ripped off. And considering Apple manages to pay almost none of its income tax, we get screwed over by the government taxing us higher/cutting services due to lost revenues from companies like Apple.. essentially screwed in every way.

We also earn a lot more than the US. I know my job in the states would struggle to hit $45k pa. I earn $125K pa here in Aus. Doing the same job in the UK I was earning 37k GBP.
