If you're interested in using your Pencil for something other than art, I made a music app called Composer's Sketchpad that supports it. It's basically a sequencer where you can draw out each note to any length and bend it to any pitch, allowing you create curvy and complex melodic lines (guitar solos!) in a way that no other app does. It's a bit different from most other music apps in that it's not meant to sit in the middle of an audio production/performance chain, but I'll certainly be adding more power features as time goes on.

Why is it that on apple product release/delivery days I always want to run out and buy one? I have an iPad mini 2 and an iPad 3 (yes the clunker), and even as it is I rarely use iPads. My iPhone 6+ gets all the use.

You don't need one... you don't need one...

You don't need one.

Tomorrow can't come fast enough. Interesting this is the first iPad that did not ship from China.

My first time with B&H. I wonder if I should just cancel the order and walk across the street to pick one up tomorrow at the Apple Store. I am trying to convince myself that I can wait for a few days and save a nearly 10% sales tax.

B&H is awesome and has some of the best customer service I've ever experienced. I've been a long time customer, but mainly for photography equipment. Just recently they price matched my iPad Pro a few times within my 30 day return window because it went on sale. The sales tax alone was worth saving on my 12.9.

I have a question about B&H..if I buy the iPad Pro from them and it arrives defective(Or has issues later on) can I take it to the Apple store for a replacement

If you can afford a plane ticket to Australia you'll easily be able to pick one up there, as long as you dont mind paying $900 for the base model.

I did a financial analysis report on Australia compared to other nations and continents. Man you people get screwed!

At $900 for the iPad in Australia, the lines will be as big as the last iPad Pro, non existant. I reckon theyll be lucky to sell 10 on the first day.

Whilst there wasn't a line down the street, there was a slack handful of customers already being served when I arrived at 10am. I walked in and purchased the model I wanted easily. If that pace continues through the day, they'll easily sell 100+.

The prices are crazy in Aus! The top of the line iPad 9.7 used to cost us around $900, now costs us $1350.

I think even with the exchange rate and GST, we are being ripped off. And considering Apple manages to pay almost none of its income tax, we get screwed over by the government taxing us higher/cutting services due to lost revenues from companies like Apple.. essentially screwed in every way.

I doubt they'll sell a hundred, i was one of the first people in Australia to buy the first Pro, there were a few people looking but not many willing to hand over the cash. The guy could hardly contain himself when i said wrap it up.

Yeah I ended up buying a Samsung Tab S2 for around $540, I'm staying right away from Apple till they wake up, which i doubt they will.

I've just stated that wasn't what I witnessed. I just handed over $1,500 for a 9.7" Pro 128Gb + Cellular and an Apple Pencil. In the 20 mins that I was there, there was at least 8 others being served for the smaller Pro and most purchased a pencil plus cases.

In Sydney my TNT driver wouldn't let Reception sign for my iPhone SE. Thankfully I got to Reception before he left. Otherwise I would have been carded and had to go to the depo to pick up. The driver was under the impression that he was delivering the phone early. I assured him it was release day. But he probably thought that because TNT got the phones a few day earlier than they usually do.

We also earn a lot more than the US. I know my job in the states would struggle to hit $45k pa. I earn $125K pa here in Aus. Doing the same job in the UK I was earning 37k GBP.

That is true, but not much help when you're a uni student who is struggling to find work!

Aaah but you do! Just think of all the use cases for an iPad! Drawing, reading in bed or on the couch, lounging outside, taking with you to a restaurant or Starbucks....much easier than lugging the laptop or using the small screen on the phone. Here, let's pick out which color you want...
