Why? Saying you don't think something looks as nice as Apple's previous work is attacking? In my book, constructive criticism on a product's aesthetic is not the same as bashing.

Mind you, I entered the conversation stating I was sort of amazed that the people saying it didn't look good were getting so much flack. For you convenience I have posted my first input to the thread below:
I am unsure why a person's opinion on how a product looks should be invalidated by what the product does. No, nobody is saying they "can't get work done" on this screen. They'rejust saying it doesn't look as nice as they wanted it to look I don't disagree. I am sure he screen looks absoutely amazing when in use. My prius gets incredible gas malieage too. Doesn't mean it doesn't look like shjit (and yes, we have a prius lol). Call a duck a duck. Physically speaking, this isn't the prettiest design. Period.
[Enter guy with obligatory "don't buy one then" remark...] Unfortunately there isn't a 5k Apple monitor for me to endorse so...

The current iMac looks great, FWIW. But the two aren't exactly comparable products. Put them next to each other though and tell me which one is more aesthetically appealing. If it's the LG, fine. If you don't care, fine. If it's the Mac, perhaps you understand my viewpoint. But What's the point of having a discussion on a forum if you can't say how you feel about something?

Apple doesn't want to be in the monitor business any more. That's why they are involved. USB-C is coming in very strong and Apple doesn't need to push it.

I can understand they don't want to be in the monitor business, but they were involved in the making of the LG display and Phil Schiller talked about it when they explained how you could use the new ports on the MBP.

it's tb3 and it has no physical controls. all setting controlled from macos. Mac is the only supported os now. you can try with a Windows tb3 machine it might work but you probably can't can't control anything.

So lame, why make such a restricted Monitor?

Guess I'll wait for their 32 inch model coming out next year.

Great reply if the title of the thread had been "What do you think of the LG 5K display?".

You kind of have to go out of your way to join a thread entitled:
First LG UltraFine 5K Displays Arrive Early for Lucky Customers
Just to diss the Lucky Customers.

Mine isn't on any truck or plane or train. It is no where. On the cool side I got google wifi today and that is awesome. Shame my internet is slow but at least the wifi works great now!

I was responding to the general direction the thread had gone. Again, If you wish, read where I entered and what had been said before for some context. But to be fair, the article goes into far more detail about the product than just what the title of the article entails (and for good reason, the title of s good article isn't usually all it's about else there's not much reason to read beyond the title) I don't feel I (or really anyone else, though I didn't read each and every response) was "dissing lucky customers", but let me be the first to apologize if anything I said was rude or offensive to anyone here.

My response to you was about my signature, and if you feel I was attacking anyone or anything here, please accept my apology for that too, but know that attack was the farthest from my intention.

Honestly for, this page, I think we've stayed in topic rather well. There's not a whole lot to discuss about the actual thread title, if I'm honest. Or, if there is, that's not really happening. In my eyes it's ok to have a discussion beyond posting that yours, too, has shipped, so long as you stay somewhat on track (which I think we have). But opinions obviously differ. Starkly.

With that said, I think I've said my peace. Have a wonderful new year and enjoy your monitors going into 2017 and beyond!!!
