If there's anyone here who decided to install this public beta, what's the build number? Is it the same as the revised Developer Preview 3 build, or is it something else?

I went in on the developer beta a week ago. Even that was vastly better than 26.x. Zero regrets on this update. 26 was an utter disaster IMO.

Assume you don't know how many people ask these questions as a serious question. Most people don't even know what a beta means. have you also no seen people crying after installing a Mac or IOS beta online recently that had no idea is was a bad idea......and are shocked when something goes wrong/ I mean the least beta has made me 1000's on helping people sort our their messes they caused themselves so far 🤷♂️ one being a user of this very forum

will never happen, but it would be nice if apple would give intel users 27, 26 has been a cluster @#$@#q. even dreaded microoft extended windows 10 even another year recently because the costs of computers have skyrocketed with the AI nonsense. the fact is that for most tasks my mid 2013 macbook pro is perfectly usable, yes not my newer macbook pro M3 speed, but surprisingly serviceable and fun to use with OCLP, so to have many of these systems including more powerful ones go to the trash is sad on many levels, not to mention the environment.

Can anyone confirm if the issues introduced with DB3 are resolved with the DB3 rebuild released today? I'm still on DB2.
Even on early betas, both of my MacBooks (M1 and M2) work better / faster on 27 Golden Gate.
And once the indexing is complete the searching as much more effective, etc. It’s well worth installing.

Override window corner radius, disable floating sidebar (!!)
Apparently these re-instate the defaults for Sequoia, though I prefer the second line to end with 15.

Don't disagree but a beta isn't something that just accidentally installs. You have to create a developer account just to download. You'd think that would be enough to ring some bells for the folks that are shocked when something goes wrong. And @Corefile did go out of their way to explicitly write "mission critical production servers" which asking if the beta is stable for something mission critical or production being somewhat of a running joke around here, so was obviously being sarcastic... right @Corefile .... right?!?!! [Insert Anakin/Amidala meme here]

The biggest annoyance for me is that Apple doesn't allow you to run Xcode 26 on macOS 27, and they don't allow app updates archived on Xcode 27. Now I'm sitting on a major feature update for my app that I can't publish until September.
If anyone knows a solid technical reason why Xcode 26 isn't allowed on macOS 27, I'm all ears. Otherwise, I'm calling BS on this.

sadly with what I have had to help people fix, restore and recover from due to posts online telling people it fine it's perfectly fine to install ( inducing on MR forums posts) many still don't understand what the risks are. there was large YouTube accounts going around telling people to install it and how too. For me personally I really wish apple would restrict the developer only betas to developers who actually have apps live in the App Store( Im one of them) . Well in saying that, I have name a good amount of money off the dumb ( enough to get a well spec'd MBP / sadly that included some fellow MR forum members who installed the betas on critical hardwares. so honesty when I see dumb posts of people saying yes, if it stops one more person from losing Critical data etc then it’s worth posting even with the person being sarcastic(Sic)

Wellllll I guess I’ll check it out. Why not? Time Machine backed up, auto-backups turned off, and we’re off to the races.
I thought I did too, but I started realizing how much real estate it takes up. Better to go back to the old style tbh from a practical standpoint. Especially noticeable on my smaller 13" screen.

Actually with the reduced corner radius in GG, floaty doesn’t look as bad. You can use the terminal commands that turn it off in Tahoe to turn it back on in GG.
