You mean, the same OS that wastes the entire bottom right and left corners of the screen?

Just like Windows then. Except, you can't easily see what windows are open because the dock only lists what applications are open. Doh.

Only if you're stupid enough to install a virus. The same can happen on a Mac.

Not sure what you mean by this, but I can tell you that Windows does a much better job of letting its users know what their machine is doing.

I agree with the points above as long as you change the word "virus" to "trojan".

Besides, it's more of a technicality for most users anyway. Trojan....virus......just call it "bad stuff". Apple may not be prone to viruses, but they're still prone to overall "bad stuff" created by others to harm you. Saying "Macs don't get viruses" is good for marketing though.

Re: multi tasking
Open 100 5mb JPEG in windows. Try to switch between that and Office, Excel, etc. Good luck.

Luckily, I'll only open 98 5 MB images on my computers.

I think the issue is that people on this forum who critique Windows intentionally find ways to run it into the ground whenever they use it. Hell, I've used my new MacBook for only a couple days, but I've still run into issues.

As for the "HEY! Macs are easy to learn!"
My goodness, get your head out of your ass you're turning blue! It took me a while to get all of the controls and locations for applications for my MacBook. It's very comparable to using Windows.

And yes, I bought a MacBook. But I'll always stick with Windows for my desktop. Windows works..... it's just people are too stuck up on the "first impression" band wagon.

And uh..... as for another note.... does anyone remember that iWork '09 Trojan? Mmmm.... because nothing bad ever happens to a Mac....... unlike Windows......

And don't forget Safari. It's fricking swiss cheez.

I think most people put up the s***tiest arguments to try and defend Apple while at the same time, trying to make Windows look bad.

There was nothing wrong with the point in the ad. Sure, a 17" MBP is better. So? For most people, the value of the 17" MBP is NOT worth 4x more money than a 17" HP laptop, even if it has slower RAM, worse resolution, etc. Most people don't know the difference, and don't care.

I don't know what there is to disprove about this ad. People will think that the point made in that advert is correct, and those who don't are only those people who really rely on your computers to do work, are really into computers as a nerdy obsession, or are Apple fanboys and fangirls.

I posted something on here akin to what you just said. I tried to get my mother in law, who had bought two bottom-end windows notebooks and killed them both in 4 years, to buy a macbook but she took one look at the size of the screen and price, and went right over to a $700 17in Toshiba model and bought that instead.

To us yes quality matters. I wouldn't buy a sub $1k windows notebook nor would I buy a sub $1k mac notebook either (well I don't have a choice anyway) but to 90% of the populous any choice is golden if it meets these very steep requirements:

A) Has the "Internets" and "You-tubes"
B) Can use that word program
B) Can send giant 12MP blurry pet photos to 100 people at a time

Enjoy using your higher specs to.....wait what can you actually do on a Mac?
I dunno, I hate these ads and I hate all of your fanboism. Macs have a purpose and Windows do, and NO Windows doesn't always bluescreen, I ran my Vista install for 3 months without a bluescreen or even a driver lockup, 3-4 hours of use a day. Both sides have to stop the f**king ********.

only fuel to the flame.
if you want it to end then dont reply...

People!

It's OK to have different opinions. One doesn't always have to disprove another's opinion. After all, all that is being discussed about here is opinion. Even if what one person says about a computer is (perceived) correct, much of the time, it is still that person's opinion based on what that person wants to get out of their computer. If a person wants to use a Windows computer, who cares. Stop being so obsessed with being right and let people do what they want, even if it is (perceived) as being the wrong choice. It's only a FRIGGIN' COMPUTER! As long as I can still get the software that I want, it doesn't effect me in the slightest.
