The Steve Jobs biopic based on Walter Isaacson's best-selling biography began filming in January, and the first images of Michael Fassbender and Seth Rogen as Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak have surfaced (via The Daily Mail). The two actors were filming scenes at the Flint Center in Cupertino last week, and will also be filming at Steve Jobs' original childhood home.

In the images, Fassbender wears a dress shirt, jacket, and bowtie, while Seth Rogen is dressed somewhat more casually in a tie and sweater with a full beard. Fassbender has the long ear-length hair style that Steve Jobs had in the 1980s.

Michael Fassbender, who has most recently starred as Magneto in the newest X-Men movies, was somewhat of a controversial choice in the leading role due to his limited resemblance to Steve Jobs and the fact that he's not a household name like Christian Bale or Leonardo DiCaprio, both of whom were previously attached to the film before turning down the role of Jobs.

In leaked emails from Sony, Aaron Sorkin and other executives were initially against Fassbender because "the world isn't going to care," but director Danny Boyle was fully behind Fassbender and Sorkin came to accept him, saying "He's a great actor whose time has come."

Filming on the biopic will reportedly take place at a limited number of locations including the garage of Steve Jobs' childhood home, two auditoriums, and a restaurant. The movie will consist of three continuous scenes covering three product launches: the debut of the original Macintosh, the unveiling of the NeXT computer, and the introduction of the iMac.

Along with Fassbender and Rogen as Jobs and Wozniak, the film also stars Kate Winslet as early employee Joanna Hoffman, Katherine Waterson as Steve Jobs' girlfriend Chrisann Brennan, Perla Haney-Jardine as Jobs' daughter Lisa, and Jeff Daniels as former Apple CEO John Sculley.

Nope.

I don't buy it. Not one bit. Rogen looks a better Woz than Fassbender does Jobs, and I ****ing LOVE Fassbender.

Say what you will about Kutcher's Jobs movie, but that guy at least looked halfway like Steve.

This film will almost certainly suck.

BUT I really, really want to be proved wrong. I hope it's some dizzying metaphysical headtrip of tech or something.

"He's a great actor whose time has come."

has come to... what exactly? this implies the movie will be good. and a hit.

Fasbender is too laid back to pull of Jobs. He hasn't got that intensity that seems about to explode at any moment.

I agree with you completely. Rogan does look better than Josh Gad did, but I still see Seth Rogan under there.

I guess this is for the people who wondered what Fassbender would look like if he was cast as Xavier, the slowly balding genius.

I have no idea what Sorkin is talking about when he refers to Fassbender's "time has come". He's one of the main characters (Magneto) in a huge franchise, he's been nominated for best supporting actor and been in a film that won best picture. How patronizing.

He's a phenomenal actor but I don't see it at all. Christian Bale would've been a better fit, it's too bad he pulled out.

Why on earth does an actor have to LOOK like their biographical counterpart?
Good acting extends further than the surface.

This is exactly why I was full of joy when I read that Bale was a likely candidate.

But from these pictures I'm not getting a "Oh yeah, this is Steve" feeling at all.

Well, Eisenberg wasn't quite a Zuckerberg either, but Social Network turned to be quite a decent movie (for me, that is)
Fassbender might not be a Steve Jobs doppelgänger, but I am 100% sure he will give his best to portray Steve the way he was
Oh, and don't underestimate the power of CGI, who knows what such a powerful production team has up their sleeves

the slowly balding genius.

This is exactly what I saw as the problem.

As I recall, Steve Jobs always had a full head of hair. This actor's receding hairline just makes it hard for me to see him as Steve Jobs.

Also, I feel like Seth Rogen's voice is very distinctive. His voice alone is going to make me think of the movie as a comedy.
