This film will almost certainly suck.

BUT I really, really want to be proved wrong. I hope it's some dizzying metaphysical headtrip of tech or something.

An Aaron Sorkin screenplay is not likely to suck. Everyone I know who watched Steve Jobs: The Lost Interview just sat there utterly transfixed, even though it's just Jobs talking in a single room nonstop. This movie only has to be as good as that.

I'm surprised how little he looks like Jobs. I don't know what I was expecting, but it's not even close. I wasn't a huge fan of Kutcher's film, but at least he looked every bit the part.

I'm also surprised that Rogan is semi-believable as Woz.

Looks aren't everything, I guess, but it is cause for concern.

This guy doesn't look anything like Mike Markkula! What can we expect!?! :D

so are we more concerned about how accurately they look or how accurately they portray the character?

You know what? Tom Hardy didn't look like Bane. Robert DeNiro didn't look like Jake Lamotta. Marlon Brando didn't look like Vito Corleone. Christian Bale didn't look like Trevor Reznik. It's called acting. I'd rather have someone bring life to the character than cast a lame person who's a vague look-alike.

Yeah Sony clearly focuses on truly great movies like The Interview.

You're comparing the look of fictional characters to the casting of a real person. The only real one in your list, Jake Lamotta and Deniro, actually do look alike.

People forget that Dicaprio was one of the earlier prefered candidates for the role, and he looks even LESS like Jobs than either Bale or Fassbender. The actor who played Zuckerberg doesn't look at all like the real one, and the movie was still huge.
Fassbender is one of the best actors of the decade ( just watch Shame and you'll understand ), a far better actor than both Dicaprio and Bale. And Steve Jobs IS Magneto without the armour :p ( except his distortion field bends reality instead of metal )
My only regret is that i would have prefered Fincher directing. Although Boyle can be dazzling at times .

Look at all the casting directors in here!

Say what you will about the resemblance, but I have a strong feeling Fassbender will knock this one out of the park. He's a phenomenal actor, no can deny that.

Well, Eisenberg wasn't quite a Zuckerberg either, but Social Network turned to be quite a decent movie (for me, that is)
Fassbender might not be a Steve Jobs doppelgänger, but I am 100% sure he will give his best to portray Steve the way he was
Oh, and don't underestimate the power of CGI, who knows what such a powerful production team has up their sleeves

At least Eisenberg can look like a geek.

what if we are all wrong and seth is actually playing the part of steve jobs?

That would be a plot twist :D

Too bad Bale bailed. He would have been perfect. I actually thought Kutcher was decent and even the Jobs movie was ok. I think it was just at little too rushed and seeing that this new movie is only based on 3 scenes sounds like it will miss too much of the total story as well.

Fasbender is too laid back to pull of Jobs. He hasn't got that intensity that seems about to explode at any moment.

Have you not seen X-Men First Class? He's got a hell of a temper in those newest movies as Magneto....

what if they used a 70 yr old Chinese guy to play jobs? or a 14 yr old black guy?

Well hey, rumors are a black guy (Idris Elba, who's a badass) is going to be the next Bond.
