Frankly...

It looks to me like this can work from a casting standpoint. Solid acting can make up for a lot of when it comes to physical dissimilarity.

I think the problem is that I've never seen Jobs with his hair back like that. he had it parted to the side covering his forehead, with glasses on.

Fassbender and Rogan are quite the accomplished actors but I don't see a Steve Jobs on set at all. Bale could've pulled this off better.

I'm really not seeing Steve Jobs in this guy. Probably gonna be a hard watch.

Fasbender is too laid back to pull of Jobs. He hasn't got that intensity that seems about to explode at any moment.

I disagree completely. Have you seen X-Men First class or 12 Years a Slave? He shows that intensity in both of those films. He's a phenomenal actor and I have high hopes for this.

I have no idea what Sorkin is talking about when he refers to Fassbender's "time has come". He's one of the main characters (Magneto) in a huge franchise, he's been nominated for best supporting actor and been in a film that won best picture. How patronizing.

He's a phenomenal actor but I don't see it at all. Christian Bale would've been a better fit, it's too bad he pulled out.

I think it's because, by all accounts, Fassbender does not WANT to just be "that guy in Xmen" any more than someone like Tom Hanks wanted to just be "that guy in Big." He's definitely earned the chance to try. Christian, while *I* think he might have been great, clearly didn't himself feel he was right, so I'd trust his judgment over mine. It would suck to expect another American Hustle performance, and instead get Captain Corelli’s Mandolin.

Three images leaked, and so far Macrumors society has determined:

A. Movie sucks
B. Casting is completely wrong
C. No one cares about this movie

Amazing how the internet is better at casting/directing Hollywood movies than those in the position to do so. Goooooooooo team!

lol he doesn't look anything like steve jobs. doesnt matter how good an actor the guy is...how is he supposed to make us believe he is steve jobs if he doesn't look a single bit like him?

whoever cast him should be fired.

So, so sad....

It's laughable how wrong Fassbender looks for the Jobs role. The dude looks more like a young Danny Boyle! is that why he was cast? Can we at least darken his hair a bit? Where was Josh Brolin? This casting is painful, no wonder why SONY dropped it.

Why on earth does an actor have to LOOK like their biographical counterpart?
Good acting extends further than the surface.

Depends on how famous they were. No amount of good acting can change the publics perception of how the individual is suppose to look, especially if they have a cult following. Here lies the problem with jobs.

In my opinion, this movie will be a flop, more cause Seth is portraying woz.

This is hilarious.. Fassbender looks nothing like Jobs at ALL.

You know what? Tom Hardy didn't look like Bane. Robert DeNiro didn't look like Jake Lamotta. Marlon Brando didn't look like Vito Corleone. Christian Bale didn't look like Trevor Reznik. It's called acting. I'd rather have someone bring life to the character than cast a lame person who's a vague look-alike.

Yeah Sony clearly focuses on truly great movies like The Interview.

That is precisely why I would have been fine with Christian Bale... that guy definitely knows flying off the handle.

That said, I still wish Noah Wyle would reprise his role as Jobs :(

You sir, must be new to the "internet"....... MR is going to be a huge shock for you!

This is going to be a disaster. I would like to be wrong, believe me, I would. But seeing Rogan...ugh

how about leonardo di caprio playing j.edgar hoover?

and besides, most people aren't going to be so scrutinizing about how exact an actor matches the look of steve jobs.. that type of stuff will mostly go on in this bubble.. but it's a tiny bubble.

Lieutenant Hicox looks nothing like Steve Jobs. It's comical. Ain't even mad because it's too funny.

uhhh... 'those-in-the-position-to' had a hell of a miserable time casting this movie. which is a large part of the backlash against it.

No one in The Social Network looked like their real life counterpart, but once the movie rolled that wasn't an issue.

Wait for a trailer, a clip, wait for something other than a random paparazzi shot.

No, nops, no...
