Give it a shot, it's rather nice. I've been able to delete most of my news apps and RSS reader as a result of using apple news. Especially with the channels section in it.

When i open the app it doesn’t auto refresh, so it’s useless to me.

I don't understand why that's an issue? Just swipe down. But for the record, it does indeed auto refresh. I just opened it to remind myself and sure enough, it did.

Because if I’m at bottom of the app I don’t want to scroll to top then refresh.
No it doesn’t auto refresh, only when app hasn’t been opened in a while and the OS has closed the app.

Not true. If you are at the bottom of the feed when you exit the app and then later open it again before the OS has closed it there are two options to get what you want.
Tap the today button and it zips to the top. Or it auto-refreshes and puts a "new stories" label at the top. Tap it and it goes back to the top and everything is refreshed.
I just did it after putting my phone down for 5 minutes after initially opening the app. The app was still in memory. I was at the bottom of the feed. It refreshed on its own and displayed the new stories button at the top. Tap and I'm back at the top and it has been refreshed.

Ok well must be a recent change, have a 8 plus with lots of ram and it wasn’t doing that before i will give it a try

Does this update finally fix the issue with Screen Time and multiple devices? The issue being devices that are no longer owned or signed in with the same Apple ID still showing under the Device list? Very annoying.

I don't often use the main feed, aka "today". I use channels mostly. Where you can have a collection of your favorite sites. Or you can setup a topic which is a collection of sites sharing that topic, much like an RSS reader.
For example I have polygon there, a gaming news site. I also have a PC game topic. I can go in to polygon to read their site from within apple news, nicely formatted, or I can select PC games and have news on that topic from many sites. Lots of ways to set it up. Everything in one place.

Because Android has it?
I hope  never does dark mode so you people can keep complaining about the lack of it.
Dark mode sucks
What's the problem with having an option? If you don't want to use something like that you wouldn't need it--basically nothing would change.

I'm disappointed in Apple with this update. I don't care about performance or stability or bug fixes or functionality. The only thing that matters is more emoji, I mean, what's the point of an update if we don't get a few hundred additional emoji? I guess I've been conditioned to believe this was Apple's new priority #1 ;-).

Dark Mode in macOS is amazing looking. Dark mode in the latest Windows 10 update is horrific. It makes it look like Windows Terminal.

I look forward to a macOS style Dark Mode for iOS. (AppleTV has had it for some time)

Dont think i will bother with any of that.
Only thing that annoys me now is when you open the app , it doesn’t take you to back to the top automatically. Suppose i will have to keep pressing today instead.

all i want is dark mode. Everything else is irrelevant
Anyone else have a feeling that Apple will shaft users by making Dark Mode an iOS 13/14 feature, whilst making said version inoperable on older phones? The "killer app" syndrome to get people to upgrade?

Shameful, but entirely within the realm of possibility.

You do realize that emoji's aren't something Apple really decides on or anything like that, it's more that they stay up to date with what the Unicode Consortium goes with.

It's been suggested and talked about in the context of iOS 11 and iPhone X, and even before that. So far, here we are still without it and without any particular details/limitations related to it.

So I upgraded my beta software on my iPhone X and both of my 4K Apple TVs. The TVs have always showed up in HomeKit and I thought with the update they would be able to be added to scenes but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Is this feature only going to be for smart TVs using AirPlay 2? I don’t know why Apple wouldn’t have this feature work with their own devices. Has anyone been able to add them to scenes? I want them to be able to be turned on and off when a scene is activated and when I click on the icon. Also, why can’t Siri on my phone turn on or off my Apple TV?
