The market isn’t a good measure of meaningfulness.
What does that even mean lmao. The guy I replied to say Tim Cook was a failure. How well a company is doing financially, especially over a long period of 10-15 years, is a very good measure of how a CEO is performing.

The guy you replied to said Tim hadn't done much meaningful things in terms of products, or something along those lines, the posting is gone for some reason. Nobody disputes that Apple is very profitable under Tim. However money doesn’t create meaning, and success in the market doesn't mean that someone is doing very meaningful work. As an extreme example, ********s of money have been made with NFTs, but they are almost completely devoid of meaning.

You know the headset isn’t junk. It’s just the ridiculous asking price
Okay, I’ll agree to that statement. It’s ridiculous in price.

In usefulness I reserve judgement in another year, if and when it comes out, as it was vague when it was available to consumers.

It still doesn’t DO anything better than the things it replaces. To me, that’s sounds junky.

I’m not even sure what trickle-down features it will provide to me as an iOS / iPadOS / macOS user…..all trickle-up imo

I think certain people just get to a point where they refuse to move on with technology. It’s fine, because I was listening to Leo Laporte, and he’s the textbook definition of a “boomer” when it comes to technology. I don’t mean that in a derogatory sense because I’m older, but some people just get stuck. One of his cohosts was telling him it’s going to sell really well and he’s like well it’s still going to be a failure 🤦‍♂️🤣

I'm a 65+ boomer and I think this is wonderful. I look at it like the first iPod. The advancements in the tech, like flash RAM, remade the device into the MP3 player to have. Think where the visor could be in version 4.
