first time I couldnt take the cost

What you say you do on your iPad doesn't match what you want to buy. 128GB, cellular, keyboard, and pencil are hardly needed for just web browsing. I can see an argument for cellular but for the sake of making my point let's stick with 32GB Wi-fi only and AppleCare. That's $800 before tax for what meets your needs or about half of the cost of what you said you wanted.

True, but then I don't need to upgrade from my 64GB iPad Air 2.

I'm on that 64 air2 life too. Was going to get a 16 air2 when I bought it but it was out of stock. This was a staples PM deal and target deals stacked

Though I may not even use 32 paying more for less seems , meh.

Could probably get my money back reselling but I'd still be out 200-300 depending on if I got the pencil, Got mine for 400 bucks in September new!

Also would have to wait for jb

But if he does that it weakens his argument against the Pro. ;)

Can't anyone make a decision anymore? Why not give it some thought in advance and spare Apple the restock cost. This behavior is infantile

Who gives a damn about apples restock cost !
Try it, and return it if it's not working out for you.... that's part of the 14day returns policy they offer. I'm pretty sure apple would move less gear if they didn't have this policy.

I'd venture to say they aren't losing a penny on their returns, just making a smaller profit margin.
(Psst...that's called losing money. For example, that's like saying that if I told you that starting tomorrow, I'm going to change your annual salary from whatever it is now to only $5,000 per year, you wouldn't be losing money, just making less.)

Semantic games. If they sell it for more than it costs them to make, they are making money - just not as much.

Just did an analysis:
Pros:
Screen enhancements/reflective reduction/True Tone
CPU
Pencil capable ($100 premium-- most tempting)
Smart KB capable (not interested for now, $150 premium I won't indulge)
Camera/iSight

Cons:
64->32
same RAM/touch ID gen
waiting for next jb

Seems nice improvements, but I'll be lucky to pay $300 out of pocket or $200 if I forego the pencil for a bit,

Just seems like an awful lot of dough, not that i can't afford it

I have owned lots of apple products. Ive never had a problem with the apple tax. I have a full time job and make good money. However this is the first time ive bought an apple product and just didnt feel comfortable keeping it. I bought a 128 gb ipad pro 12.9 inch with applecare. total with applecare was 950.00. With accessories it pushed it over a thousand. I had the ipad pro for a few days and I loved it. It really was a great device. However the whole time I had it the cost kept ringing over and over in my head. This has never happened to me before with an apple product. I just dont get it. It was really bugging me though spending over a grand on a tablet. After awhile I broke down and returned it. I will miss the device. Maybe even someday if I can get it for much less then I will. Never thought id return an apple product solely on cost though.

Fair enough, its your money and no matter how much you have I believe its up to you how you spend every single cent or penny of it.

Apple products are tempting and they are very clever at marketing and getting people to feel they need the latest and greatest. Its good to just get what you need, are happy with and then forget product refreshes etc or not let them drive you to buy lol

Ive taken back products I didn't think were 'worth it' when considering how it worked when I tried it out etc. And its a real good feeling on those occasions seeing the money go back in my account lol

For the record, I don't think people should be ashamed to admit they can't afford something, or that buying something so expensive means they end up thinking the money is best spent elsewhere. One of the reasons for this forum is for people to help each other and make the best of what they have bought, or can buy.
