I have purchased a new Apple Watch every time a new one came out, each one seemed so much better, this one not so much. The watch is so new I would think they could have innovated better to force me to upgrade.

Anyone else upgrade every time and not upgrading this time? Always on just doesn't do it for me, I guess it's great but I actually like that my watch goes off when I don't need it, I'm odd I guess:confused:

Next years Apple Watch will hopefully be a BIG jump.

I was going to and then I thought about it. Really not much in terms of features and I could care less about an always on display! Let's see what next year brings!

Love the always on, I'm shocked they kept that under wraps until the Keynote.

I have to think they will have settings where messages won't automatically show, my juvenile friends send me plenty of stuff I wouldn't want coworkers to see in the middle of a meeting.

For me the S4 was definitely the first “good enough” watch. The prior models were dog slow.

So fewer people will do yearly upgrades from now on. I will upgrade, but that’s just because I want to have 44mm instead of 40mm, and it felt stupid to buy a new S4 today (not stupid, but I’m a fanboy and want the latest and greatest).

Yeah, upgraded every time but last time (my S3 is still plenty fast then) so this time I’m in again. :D

Was hoping for S4 discount then it got discontinued instead so just took the plunger and ordered S5, also ordered a ordered a $10 Milanese band from eBay.

Is there something specific you want that the Watch doesn’t have? If not be happy with the money you’re saving.

I think I'll stick with my S4 till the S6. Always on is pretty awesome, but not enough so that I want to spend another $500+ to upgrade.

Maybe I'll change my tune after seeing Titanium in person...but from the Apple photos the titanium looks like the aluminum model...

Let's be honest, Series 5 is a 4s really.

Kinda...kinda not. I mean, what were you expecting the Apple should add to not make it an ‘S’ model? I think the always on display, they double the storage, offering new casings, new bands, compass, offer some nice upgrades. I’d say it also depends what model someone is upgrading from as well.

Always on and 32 GB of storage (up from 16 GB) are good reasons for many to get a Series 5.

But I kept my Series 0 for three years . . . .

I bought my Series 3 in 2018 (wanted cellular). Now, I'm getting the Series 5 because I want the fall detection.

I wonder if they did a misdirect by letting slip rumors of sleep tracking (and bi-directional charging of the iPhone) that won’t ship until next year.

It's not even an S model, there is no upgraded chipset. I think the S5 is simply a placeholder model like the iPhone 11. The real changes will be either next year or the year after.

Apple's website says it runs an S5 processor which is "up to 2x faster than S3 processor" which is found in the AW3. So surely it must be somewhat faster than the S4 as well.

Me and more importantly, my wallet are very happy that neither the phone or watch are all that impressive this year. No reason to upgrade with the S4 or XS. They can keep on kicking for at least another year.

True but they are comparing it to the AW3. The AW4 chip also said it was up to 2x faster than an S3. So it makes it seem like the same chip.

The joke here is Apple’s trade in programme offering in the UK - £80 for a £1300 S4 Hermes!

That is a sign of how much value Apple Watches have in the second hand market - whilst I am sure I could get at least £500 on eBay for my watch how Apple can partner with a trade in company that offers so little is crazy.

I first bought S2 and then jumped at S4 as I felt the changes made between models were significant, or at least significant enough for me. S4 to S5 doesn't have enough to wow or motivate me to part with more hard earned money. Sure there are some upgrades and I'm not suggesting it's a bad release or that progress wasn't made. I still don't see watch as a mature product by comparison to say, iPhone or iPad but we're getting there. $199 and $229 for 40 and 42 watches will be an appealing entry point into AW for many. There are choices for everyone!

Too many choices on the new bands, at least for me. I've already ordered 3 and am contemplating 3 others:confused:

Yeah, they’re offering me £80 for my SS series 4 44mm. What a joke.

I have an S4 so there is basically no point in upgrading, but seriously, how sexy is this combo? Titanium and brown leather. Always wanted a SS but i think this has taken its place for me
