Actually, the S7 isn't really waterproof. http://fortune.com/2016/07/09/samsung-galaxy-s7-active-waterproof-consumer-reports/

So maybe for true waterproofness, the jack has to go.

First thing first, the s7 was advertised as water resistant. Not water proof. (Hence just tells you even the article you sent us to doesn't even know what it's talking. )

Next, it was just a batch of the s7 ACTIVE that has this problem. Even the s5 and the regular s7 and edge are doing their job at water resisting.

It's like a batch of iPhone 6+ that bend means all the iPhone 6+ will bend? Obviously bs?

And if you don't know, they don't even know where the water actually went into the phone itself. If the s5, s7 and the s7 edge have no problem with water resistance together with all the Sony phones, i think there's no reason for Apple to remove the headphone jack solely because it "helps" in water resisting.

So much stupid in one statement.

The technology is still the standard, Bluetooth isn't better for various reasons, neither is Lightning due to limitations. Removing it is an inconvenience no-one asked for.

Samsung S7 is waterproof with the headphone jack. More waterproof than the iPhone 7 is rumoured to be.

You started it, so clearly you're the one that has the issue. I'm annoyed they're removing a headphone jack from a phone because it's still something that I use a lot. Of course there's going to be work arounds but excuse me for voicing an opinion on a form.

Now goodbye.

It appears Apple have a ground breaking new product to launch to replace traditional headphones.

Who'd have thought that Apple would do years of R&D before making such a big move.

Do the Bluetooth headphones still need recharging?

If Yes: Still an inconvenience.

If No: Apple have solved wireless transmission of power, well done Apple, finally perfecting Nikola Tesla's work.

Can't wait for Jony Ive's video about how this is the most advanced iPhone design ever... except that it's the same design as the last iPhone... and the iPhone before that.
