I will absolutely wait until next year to upgrade. The complete redesign for 2017 is what we all want.

True, but I still don't understand the point of a video like this?

Because there is no way to make an app that looks like the SwitchBoard camera app.
Hah ok, phone comes it in a month bud and 80 million were ordered by Apple to be produced im gonna go out on a limb and say it's real since we all go through this every year. Just about every single leak beyond May and most times earlier is 100% accurate. And please someone did not develop that software that accurately just to show this video my god.

It is what is. I'm not going to be negative about his iPhone. I'm still upgrading on day one and will appreciate any enhancements.

And who knows what other surprises Apple might have for us in store.

I'm surprised there haven't been any leaks about what exactly the camera on the regular model is. It seems like they're up to something interesting with that giant lens. I doubt it's just for looks.

Maybe the 7 will be the "Apple IIgs" model. Upgraded sound, upgraded screen, upgraded camera.

Yea man I leave it up to the keynote. The 6s Plus is more than satisfactory if I did end up keeping it and skipping, but the final specs revealed that day are what make the decision ultimately

Not buying this ugly crap. Did Apple hire Samsung designers or something?

NOBODY WATCHING THE BALL AT APPLE, SO SAD.
I wish they would hire Samsung designers, because the S7 looks 10 times better than the iPhone 6(S) and this new iPhone 7.

Think it's likely I will be getting note 7 and then review again next year on the 2017 iPhone to see if they can step their game up

Yes this is so much nicer

Just as unrefined. Apple = Motorola. Motorola = Apple.

Oooo Apple Fan Boy alert!

Take your attitude elsewhere.

also seems to be unaware a device can be waterproofed with a 3.5 jack.

In theory it could be easier. Seals on internal side its done (apple may use the same glue as apple watch, who knows).
USB-c (as rumored) would be the same. Seals keep out water. Plug the hole if desired (again it be for either connector) and you just worry about thin surface layer water between the rubber plug and the sleeve.

Its the corrosion I wonder about. Plan old yucky (to them) 3.5 is simple voltage. Bit of corrosion I see noise generation worst case. What corrosion will do to a usb-c....I see a few bad possibilities. Will corrosion affect syncing..since a more complicated signal?

But thats me living by an ocean. I know well what the sea, or even just sea spray leaves behind for residue. Why I keep on saying if these people really have a hard on to do underwater video/pic shooting....go pro (variants) or housing for a dslr...or quick googling shows marine dive rated houings for phones.

external housing is a god send I am told for electronics you want to take under the sea. You take it off, you rinse it, and done. I envy that...I have loads of fun wiping down camera gear after I shoot around sea walls. Not even in the water ,waves crashing on the walls and a bit off spray type stuff.

"how the hell did I get salt residue in that small ass crack?"...a question I have asked myself more than once on gear pm's after shooting.

Tim still doubling down on secrecy, I see.

In the Steve days this stuff didn't happen much. Chinese suppliers knew if someone leaked, they'd be dropped. At this point I can only assume Tim doesn't care because the scale of these leaks is only getting worse.

LOL @ that ridiculous camera bulge.
[doublepost=1470333139][/doublepost]
So its the 6s with a better camera?
Which isn't saying much, because the camera on the 6S is an over-processed over-saturated dog.

It seems that innovation = new design for most of you. I've always been a function over form type of person so let's look at the new features.

1.) The first time I recall that they increase the size of the camera lens, and the + model will get dual camera, probably making this the biggest camera upgrade on an iPhone ever!

2.) Waterproof, yeah this isn't confirmed but hold your hate till it's official. This alone is a major reason for me to get the new iPhone.

3.) Retina Color display, so the new iPhone will be the most color accurate, anti reflective display ever on an Apple device. Also things like variable refresh rate and other iPad Pro screen features will make it as well.

4.) Battery life improvements. The iPhone SE has about a 30% improvement over iPhone 5S, and the new iPhone isn't getting thinner so this is probably the least talked about most useful feature of the new iPhone.

5.) The iPhone 7+ will have smart connector, dual cameras, 3gb ram, etc...

So, looking at this list, I don't see why everyone is hating? Do you really want a 4k battery drain display with curved edges? What else innovation is there? It's not like there are hologram Android phones with a built in time machine or something. Trust me, we're not missing out on anything except a buggy, laggy, insecure Android OS.

That phone isn't running iOS and the video portion showing the port(s) on the bottom has been deliberately obscured

Troll level unlocked

How do people not realize that the 6 design was panned by everyone design wise and that is why people want a radical redesign. It's not like the 6/6s was "loved" universally. So what we are getting is almost the same design as one from 3 years ago that no one LIKED.

If it was an excellent design that everyone loved, the 6ss coming out wouldn't have this kind of vitrol on the forums. People are annoyed that a design no one was in favor of is somehow being pushed on us 3 years in a row. And if we include the "7s" it will be 4.

How many people would know the difference between a Galaxy S6 and S7 just by looking at the front of the phone? That's a really weak trolling argument.

How is what Samsung does (or doesn't do) relevant to a discussion and article that doesn't quote them in any way?
Do you ever think about what you're about to post or is the "Defend Apple" impulse so strong that only on select few occasions does the brain override the heart?

Pause at 6 seconds.. Why does that individual have so many fingers?? GREAT, Aliens are leaking iphone models...

After sharing photos of the first powered on and fully functional iPhone 7 earlier, Chinese repair shop GeekBar has created a brief accompanying video that shows the smartphone's camera in action for the first time.

The individual who recorded the video can be seen panning over his MacBook and other desk objects with the iPhone 7 view finder open. The smartphone appears to be running Apple's internal testing software SwitchBoard, rather than a public version of iOS.

The short 25-second clip is too blurry to provide an accurate look at the expected camera improvements on the iPhone 7, but it does confirm that the overall design of the device seen in leaked photos is very likely the real deal.

In particular, that design is expected to include no headphone jack, dual speakers, a larger rear-facing iSight camera, and repositioned antenna bands along the rear shell. The device still has a home button, but whether it is flush and touch sensitive as rumored cannot be clearly distinguished.

iPhone 7 pre-orders could begin Friday, September 9, ahead of retail availability on Friday, September 16, according to noted leaker Evan Blass.
