A friend is going to switch her Fitbit to her right wrist and wear her Apple Watch on the left. She's a long time Fitbit user and does challenges with her friends and family.
I've only been using the Fitbit for a few weeks and don't really do the challenges so I don't mind losing my info. But I like the sleep tracking so at night when my Watch is charging I'll wear my Fitbit Charge.

I've been using sync solver. As soon as fitbit announced they were not supporting Health I was ready to ditch them. I can't wait for my watch to come in.

I might actually keep wearing my Fitbit. I really like the social aspect of it (friends, challenges) and I would be missing that with the Apple watch.

Use Runkeeper or Strava. Problem solved.

Did they make that decision? Genuinely curious, I wondered who broke up with whom in that situation, especially after Apple stopped carrying Fitbit products for retail.

(I'll be ebaying my Fitbit one.)

Fitbit made that decision long before Apple stopped carrying Fitbit products in the stores.

thats what im gonna do

It was blazingly stupid for FitBit to not support the Health app. There is zero downside to it, as the app does nothing to compete with their product line. In fact, it ENHANCES it.

It's hard to believe this is anything but a colossal mistake on their part, one they will regret.

I think the downside, for them, is people could actually take the Fitbit data elsewhere and don't have to keep using/buying a Fitbit to continue with it.

Heh, yeah good luck with that. I have a FitBit Charge HR that I actually really like, and SyncSolver has been a nice stopgap, but there is so much more even the Charge could do, not to mention their software. HealthKit's UI isn't stellar, but the data is available to tons of other apps.

I am curious how the Apple Watch will do resting heart rate; it's surprising how well resting heart rate tracks with your fitness. But yeah, FitBit is not helping their own cause by shunning HealthKit.

Is there a better app for viewing the data? Any recommendations for viewing after syncing to the Apple Health app?

Use the premium service

I made the transition from Fitbit to Withings and tried to use the sync app, but it did a weird thing when syncing weight data from the scale. So, I signed up for the 30 day free trial of their premium service, which allowed me to download my data, and then imported it into the Withings website. Once there, using the Withings app on the iPhone imported all the data into Apple health
