I feel sick.

I’ve lost all my fitness data/history prior to 15 October when I set up my new S7. I’ve been using the app Heart Analyzer to help me build my cardio fitness since a heart attack in February 2020. So, it was all there and appears to have disappeared after I updated to IOS 15.1 last night from the beta version.

I’d rather avoid wiping and restoring my phone (iPhone 13 Pro). Any ideas please?

Did you unpair your old watch before setting up your new one?

And is your health data stored in iCloud?

And, when you set up your new watch did you get an option to restore from a backup?

Please give us more info.

Thanks for your reply.

I can’t recall the stage at which my old watch was unpaired. I followed the instructions to place the new watch next to my phone, use the camera etc. I think the process unpairs the old watch when the new one has received all settings and data.

Yes, my health data is stored in iCloud. But I don‘t know how this is accessed.

Finally, yes, I restored from backup. Everything was visible - all the Fitness rings day by day going back a couple of years. All was ok.

The thing that alerted me was that instead of a move streak of 477 days it went down to 8.

You can see my awards for 69 consecutive perfect weeks. I’m not sure how I managed 126 weeks for the stand goal given I was in hospital for nine days.

Prior to 15 October suddenly there’s no fitness data on the watch, phone or in the health app and Heart Analyzer app.

Does your old watch still show as connected? Also, it can take a while for activity data to sync to the watch and Personally I always restart my watch a couple of times as it seems to speed up synchronisation of the limited edition awards. Might be worth trying that?

Does any of the data that’s now missing on the watch show up on the phone?

Yes - the DL of this data can take forever. I doubt that you've really lost it. I had a lot of anxiety the first time or two that happened, but it all came back. The only question in my mind is that I only recall it taking a few days. You're talking about a week and a half. Have you checked with Apple support? You're totally within the support period for the S7 watch.

No, my old watch is unpaired and not showing. I’ve reset it ready to sell☹️

I’m restarting my watch with my fingers crossed.

There’s no data on either phone or watch prior to 14 October. Also all data prior to 14 October has gone from the Health app and Heart Analyzer app.

Thanks, I will try Apple support.

All the data was available on watch and phone until today, possibly last night after the release of IOS 15.1.

I really do hope I haven’t really lost it. Thank you for that ray of hope.

Not really sure what to say, but have you restarted your iPhone since it automatically restarted after installing 15.1?

Really don’t know what else to suggest, sorry, but do let us know how you get on. And I hope you get all of your data back.

(sorry, no answers here, just sympathy)

This happened to me a couple of years ago when I did exactly what you described. I don't know why it happened and I was never able to restore the data.

Last week, I unpaired my watch from iP11 and re-paired it to a new iP13 and held my breath, and all was there after the process thankfully ..

I'm sorry if you lost that info, I know how you feel.

As I’d been on the RC of the IOS 15.1 beta my devices didn’t actually update but I did have to remove the beta profile.

Thanks, I need some sympathy. My wife is unmoved.

They do warn us that things can go wrong with beta releases and I can’t help feeling that’s what’s behind this.

The small bit of good news is that I generated monthly summaries of my heart data from Heart Analyzer going back to my heart attack. All graphical, but better than nothing, and I won’t have a full set for October.

For good measure I’m restarting both phone and watch again. I’m becoming reconciled to losing the data.

For what it’s worth, when I got a new iPhone a couple years ago, I paired my old S4 with it. It took a week to get all my data and badges back. Thought I lost everything. Not sure why it took so long. However, with my new S7 everything came back instantly. keep us posted and I hope you are able to get everything back.
