I mean.... The last gap between Apple TV updates was 3 years. Are they really going to become an annual device? That seems like sketchy intel to me. I wouldn't be surprised if a new lower-cost stick-like model comes out but a new flagship Apple TV 4K already?

I just bought the 2nd Gen Apple TV because it went on sale on Amazon for $119 for a new TV I have on the way. I know even Gen 1 is plenty good enough to stream movies/TV with so Gen 2 must be fantastic. What could possibly be in Gen 3 this soon? 8K?

Probably a new Cinema Display XDR coming along as well if they release a new Mac Pro.

Correct me if I’m wrong but, as someone who has an Apple TV 4K that works fine, doesn’t it seem a little pointless to upgrade to a new one? (Unless you’re a diehard Apple fanboy who needs to have every new product Apple releases.)

I feel like this is just Apple trying to get more people into the ecosystem.

Older ATVs can’t handle streaming stats in Fitness+… workout crashes.

That’s why I replaced all mine to the latest 4K version even though don’t have 4K TVs.

You obviously don’t have the horrible glass Siri Remote.

The Mac Studio shall be added to the list. Apple is not going to release a MacBook Pro with M2 Max without adding the M2 Max to the Mac Studio line as well. It would make no sense !
I *hope* your right...this 2014 MBP Retina is getting super-freaking long in the tooth!

Mac Pro would be the very last generation that uses Intel and allows for Windows. Could imagine them being snapped up if given a discount.

I know lots of people that snapped up the 2020 27" imac with 10-core i9 and 16GB 5700XT GPU as its the fastest and last wintel bootcamp imac. Still great specs even today and can max out lots of games

If you have an ATV4K that works fine for your purposes, there is very likely no reason to upgrade. To be clear though, this is the case with almost every Apple product - if you're buying the newest iPhone every year, for instance, you're wasting money and resources (the only people I can think of with a real legit reason to possibly get every new iPhone would be people actively developing significant iPhone apps that need to take advantage of every new hardware feature of the phone - you kind of need the hardware for final testing on something like that). For most people, if what you have is working well for you, don't buy the new version. Note that they compare to last year's version on stage, usually, but that's just to show the year-over-year improvements.

Up until I got my current M1 MBP six months ago, I was using a MBP that was about a decade old, and I'm still using an iPhone 8. I have, on the other hand, replaced my Apple TV with newer ones several times, because it is basically the entire user interface for my TV viewing and home theater (it's Apple TV for most things, and a PS5 for occasional gaming - I almost never touch the TV's own remote). It was worth it to me to upgrade last time for the latest remote. If they come out with a new one, I'll look at what it has to offer. If it's "wow, now it can do better gaming!", I'll yawn and ignore it, because it won't beat the PS5 - similarly, if it's "look, now surround sound with built-in speakers!", well, that ship has sailed for me already, so I'll ignore it. They'd have to have some really groundbreaking new feature that I particularly care about (I'm not sure at this point what that would be - I'm quite happy with the current model - I'm getting 4k Dolby Vision / Dolby Atmos and it sounds and looks lovely). But if they did some out with something that I really wanted (not just "new shiny", but it it offers me significant new capability that I want)... it's an under $200 purchase that improves my entire home theater system. I don't see that as "fanboy" (I definitely don't buy every new Apple product), I see that as a comparatively low cost upgrade, if they pull some world-beating rabbit out of their hat.

If you are using it just for streaming, you are probably right.

The very few that use it for gaming, the rumored A14 chip would be a decent upgrade.

The A12 and the second generation Apple TV 4K wasn’t really an improvement over the A10X in the previous model, at least for real world GPU performance.

But, if all one is using it for is streaming movies on Netflix, even the A8 in the ATV4 is more than adequate, at least for 1080p.
People “game” on AppleTV? Just get a PS5 and be done with it.

I wouldn’t mind a new iPad Mini (pro) that I can’t resist.
But I have also started to consider a bit bigger iPad again, so I am not sure what I want for the moment. 🙄
But that is usually the best position to be in before keynotes.
Can Apple convince me to buy something new? Who knows, we’ll see.

5 products? How about one more, I would avoid the ultra, maybe all 8s for that matter until the mic, Siri and wonky Voice Memos are fixed

And then what? Replace the monitor with an Apple Studio Display for $1599.
Why would you do that? I have two perfectly good 3rd party monitors I used with my cheese grater Mac Pro and I still use them with my M1 Mac mini. I would continue to use them with the M2 Pro Mac mini or whatever replaces the current Intel one. That's the point of the Mac mini. Don't have to buy a new monitor every time you upgrade.

Remote so obviously needs Find My that at this point it feels like an omission. Other than that, yeah it seems fine from a processing standpoint. Price needs to come down though.
