I have the same problem as you when I'm working in my yard while my WIFI connection is still active. So I stop WIFI when I'm outside. My suspicion is that my WIFI stutters my podcasts in places in the front yard if I'm listening to a podcast or IHeartRadio. No problem playing music from my music library. But still; killing the WIFI connection from the phone) has worked. The one thing I could really wish for is a stronger connection to the phone. When I get out into a busy, wide open environment like my train station, the connection cuts out until I take my phone out of my pocket and bring it up to my chest. Same happens on the street. I've started thinking of it as the "street corner effect": I'll be walking along the sidewalk playing music just fine, but as soon as I hit a corner with a bunch of other people around (and, I assume, their own bluetooth signals), the APP cut out again.
Pro 2s have legs? How fast do you have to be to keep them from getting away?I'm game as my AirPods Pro 2 are on their last leg and I would much rather replace them with an updated Pro version than the AirPods 4.
I would have rather read your actual analysis on the Airpods 3 than read your anti-Apple diatribe which may or may not have anything to do with the subject of Airpods 3.When is the last time Apple has released anything new that is better than what it replaces and wasn't made into a higher priced tier? (dont say 16gb ram Macs, we had to overpay for how many years before they gave us that one?) New AirPods with new features will be more expensive models. New AirPods with reduced features will be the lower priced option. The currently priced one will be light bumps, more features require move money because they aren't $300 yet, but they will be.
I doubt the stems are going but Apple might make them and the case a little smaller.Apple please keep the stems on the APP 3.
Have you thought about Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 as apart from flesh coloured they do fit over the ears and have a longer battery life than AirPods Pro 2? I have both and Powerbeats are definitely more secure.I'd love to see them move to a behind the ear style (ala hearing aid style) to allow for a bigger battery and more secure fit. Not likely, but it would greatly increase the functionality.
I'd also love to see them in flesh color. I don't need white blobs sticking out of my ears.
This isn’t the case for me. I’ve cleaned them the exact way Apple recommends too.Honestly I just wish they'd make the mic grills easier to clean.
"Degrading ANC with firmware updates" is just the airpods recalibrating themselves after a firmware update, often to worse quality than they used to have due to said issue about micro bits of dirt/debris in the grills. A quick isopropyl alcohol wash usually gets mine back to like-new ANC quality.
Which is strange because they seem to do the calibration song and dance regularly, yet seem to discard results unless its a noticeable change (ie much cleaner or dirtier grill), or after a firmware update.
I just turned Adaptive off and Spatial Head Tracking off. That solved the 2 biggest issues I have with them. NC by itself works incredibly well all the time for me now. This isn’t the case for me. I’ve cleaned them the exact way Apple recommends too.
IMO, it’s not this, rather it’s the ‘intelligent’ features they keep pushing that aren’t as smart as they think they are.
Give me the ability to out them on full blast noice cancelling and stop trying to be clever. Palpably worse over and over to the point I won’t even consider another paid (having bought four) until this is publicly acknowledged and fixed.
I get some people don’t have this issue, or don’t notice, but I do and I can - those stating (not you necessarily) that it doesn’t exist are presuming their level of hearing, exposure to noise, and more
It would be nice to have this built into iOS/iPadOS instead of just the Apple Music app for those that want a bit more control. However, Personalized Spatial Audio does an incredible job of auto-EQing as it is and I’ve found it always sounds better than any EQ curve I’ve tried. How do we go about getting an Equalizer!? Come on, it's 2025, all earbuds now come with EQ apps... come on Apple!
Spatial Audio is fantastic and it also adds volume (unexpected bonus!) but there’s no bass, especially when listening to older albums like from the 80s or 90s. Even if remastered, those albums sound kinda anaemic! The custom audio set up allows for mids and highs to be boosted but bizarrely no such allowance not for the lows🤷🏻♂️It would be nice to have this built into iOS/iPadOS instead of just the Apple Music app for those that want a bit more control.
