here's a doc about connecting an external drive to an iPhone

But how does it work when you want to Film directly to the drive?

How do you select the drive as destination?
What about Ejecting the drive? What if you just pull it out? What if you pull it out without finishing filming? etc...

Cool.

I am sure it will make more sense for others but for my use case, no value in this upgrade.
I would rather get from my beat up Apple Watch S6 to an Ultra 2.

So funny how this whole thread has the usual posts from those who would never ever buy the iPhone 15 and Apple can’t innovate anymore etc yet they spend so much time here. Why? Anyhow I’m upgrading 3 pro max phones that’s why I’m here.

Titanium and usb c. Much better to hold and use and usb c which has been a want for years.

I’m confused. How do you play those two games if they’re not available on iOS? By streaming them? If so, does the new processor matter?

The only interesting feature to me is the 5X optical zoom, but I expect it to improve in future models. I don't care about USB-C since I usually charge and exchange data wirelessly. So, I plan to hold on to my 12PM until I need to replace it.

My reason is that I have a 13 Pro Max, and I tend to upgrade every two years.

If I had a 14, there probably isn't any feature that would compel me to upgrade. Even if there were features that had me excited, I'd wait for the 16, which would have those features, plus more.

I am excited about the 5x zoom so I can take video of my kids' school concerts from the back bleachers and get a better view.

And I'm intrigued by the coming ability to take spatial videos for viewing on the Vision Pro.

The people who seem most impressed with the 15 Pro Max are professional photographers.

Ironically, they are also the least likely to replace their dedicated camera gear with an iPhone, and they admit that most users will never use the advanced camera features. A carpenter would not rely solely on a multi-tool, which the iPhone is, nor would a professional photographer.

Having a 15 Pro Max is kind of like owning a Range Rover but never driving off-road with it. That said, the Pro models will probably continue to be Apple's best sellers because the only real reason to own one is to have the top of the line model, whether or not you need it.

Isn't this really just 1 reason to buy the Max and 4 reasons to buy the Pro? You didn't even mention the larger size as being one of the reasons which is at least exclusive to the Max. Lazy writing here.

These aren’t “reasons” to updgrade. If a person had a sense of reason, they wouldn’t upgrade iPhones every year and use some of that money to put toward retirement savings.

It’s always nice when fellow MR members look out for other people’s financial well being.

Well they are some good reasons(and funny reasons) and I’m aboard.

Unfortunately these reasons weren't enough for me. "Downgraded" from a 13 Pro Max to a 15 Plus. Just don't use the camera often and when I do, I don't care about a telephoto lens. 120 Hz, action button, and titanium isn't work $300.
