I know what you're saying, but being one who has sampled many "wares" so to speak, I would say that a lot of these turnoffs are superficial and based on inexperience. ;) I've found that there are many body types and "looks" I enjoyed that I didn't think I would until I tried. I think everyone has their pluses and minuses, but I find a vast range of body types, hair color and such very attractive. It depends on the person.

But then again, I can be a bit of a whore. :)

In my wares sampling experiences, I have found an appreciation for some people that I might not have really considered otherwise. But it's still simultaneously reinforced my desire to be with someone who matches me more. But I'm weirdly complicated like that :)

/Newly single as of last night
//Freed up, to better find "the one"

You know, I bet smoking wouldn't be getting banned everywhere if smokers had done one single damned thing to be more considerate, themselves.

Like, for example:

  • Not leaving cigarette butts everywhere. Who else litters that much?!
  • Used those ash-trays that suck the smoke in. Hell, a lot of the time smokers don't seem to mind ashing on the floor.
  • Blowing away, instead of right into everyone.
  • When sitting, holding cigarettes away, or at least more at waist level, instead of right at eye level.

And, on a different topic, people with bad breath... I keep a tooth brush and tooth paste at work. How hard is it to brush your teeth after lunch, or at least after the 1378th cup of coffee? Or if that's too hard, at least some mouth wash?

Although, I should probably defend guys who don't shave everyday. I use sensitive shave gel and try to be careful, but I just can not shave my neck every day, or else my neck looks horribly mutilated. Once every 3 days is about the best compromise. Although, I do shave the mustache and cheek areas every day.

And what's with people who hate being in crowded places. It's not like they're going to attack or something. I mean, I can understand prefering intimate small groups, or hating having to slowly push through a dense unmoving crowd. But come on. I like the eye candy of large crowds, but I wouldn't hate being in a small group.

hm hard to choose especially since body traits would very likely be too easy and going very likely too much into genetic stuff we can't change like when we loose hair, how robust our teeth are etc.

so this is about girls mostly:
- being overly religious or worse believing esoteric.. and yeah thinking that astrology is science is included in that: at 4:30 AM while having a blast in the clubs i don't want to hear about how scorpions can go together with lions etc.
-perfume candles: just don't ... unless you want to kill me which on the other side is another turn off ...
-blindly following the latest trend in fashion without taking a step back and actually looking at it _once_: like pushing the end of trousers into the high boots, knowing that this even looks too stupid for the army should have got you thinking
- being vegetarian because of the "poor animals suffering" and letting everybody know about it while you are wearing leather shoes, leather winter jacket, a leather hand bag and a watch bound to your arm by leather might not be your brightest idea
- 5th is difficult because there is very likely too much to leave out: smoking is a candidate but i'm not that enthusiastic on certain hip-hop culture things either, another thing would be _tribal_ tattoos especially on the lower-back or too much piercings

Ok, I am going to be brutal to the heart.....

Here are "some" of my turn-offs.
1. lack of critical thinking (this includes: people who voted for George W Bush twice---PC way to say about stupid people
2. body oder/dirty hands/being fat
3. Self righteous people (religion fanatics, Christian fundamentalist, or any belief which judges other people based on their own belief).
4. Incompetent and lazy people (I hope Darwinism prevail on them)
5. People who do not respect other people's personal properties (I cannot get nicer car because someone will key, scratch or dent it).

fake people

(no, not fake boobs or fake plastic people as in barbie dolls... superficial people who put on a front/act)

when ya meet a good looking girl and find she is just a complete fake, ruins it for me. i dont care if shes gorgeous, if she's fake its game over and move on to the next broad

As TRITE as it may SEEM, I tend to find it DISCONCERTING when I meet a person and DISCOVER that they have a WHOLE LIST of items which they deem UNDESIRABLE and which they declare an inability to see BEYOND.

So MY list of THINGS would be THIS:

1) Having preferences which seem random or arbitrary.
2) Being stuck in their ways with regard to random or arbitrary things.
3) Showing a general unwillingness to accept people who either express different preferences to themselves OR who possess those attributes which they do not like.
4) Fat people.

That is ALL.

Doesn't your preference <4> demonstrate that you yourself possess attributes of <1>, <2> and <3>?

Edit: Nothing personal, just found it a little bit curious...

People who spend more time in judgemnet over others rather than looking in a mirror. None of us are perfect and I accept you as you are.

I agree with you completely. It's amazing how people will judge a person without even knowing anything about them... isn't it???

I don't have a turn off list. I don't judge.

Mark, most smokers I know have done as you've requested or more, especially me. The fact of the matter is this- you don't like it, so any slip-up that happens gets magnified 100 times in your mind and the minds of other non-smokers. That's all I'm going to say about it. This subject is tired.

BTW- you know I love you mark. ;)

Pot, meet kettle...

I hadn't realised honest expressions of opinion meant judgement of others, I have never personally judged anyone in this forum. I've expressed my personal opinions about some topics of discussion but have not sort to vilify, degrade or judge anyone. Just because someone doesn't agree with my personal beliefs and opinions doesn't cause for judgement.

1. Serial Killers
2. Fuzzy hands and feet
3. The walking dead (zombies or anyone with advanced necrosis)
4. R n B, drum n bass, house music and any of that crap
5. Heavy Internet users

Interesting choice of list, but I'll bite...
  1. Smoking (by far the biggest turn off ever)
  2. Blatant disregard for others
  3. Poor musical taste (No, Ashlee Simpson is NOT a good songwriter)
  4. Lack of intelligence (I'm simply not turned on by someone I can't talk to)
  5. Inability to laugh at themselves (people do dumb stuff, laugh at it)

Sorry, but just to be a dork:

1. People who claim that having a list of turnoffs is narrow minded, when clearly everyone has standards, and the inability to innumerate them only indicates poor communication or cognitive abilities.

2. Damn it, I lack the communication and cognitive abilities to make this into a list of 5...

Thanks man. Hmm, perhaps where you come from, people are a bit more conscientious, because over here, you can find litter and cigarette butts all over the place.
